Now that we’re out of the FA cup , how seriously do you think PT will take our home game against the Wombles Tuesday & what sort of team will he put out with a lot of league fixtures coming up in a short space of time. I know a lot of fans have mixed feelings over this competition, but there is 40k prize money for winning the tie & progressing to the last 8.

I was very much against the new format and didnt attend any games last season, but i think we should put out our strongest line up and try and win, mostly for the money but also to build confidence for a tough league run coming up.

I'd put the weakest team possible out tbh, but not because of the competition status
We have back to back Tuesday & Saturday for 3 weeks in a row - I'd minimise any risk of injury during that time.
League has to take priority.

Money talks, he will take it seriously by putting out a strong side and why not, we got a great chance to progress.

We've plenty of squad players with 1st team experience to allow us to play a strong side with only a handful a players who started on Saturday:
JVS
Hare Little Harris Kelly/Tutonda
Grant Westbrook/Liddle
McCormick/Hargreaves Kioki
Ayunga Barrett/Walker

I'd keep Day in goal and Ehmer as RB and captain for consistency. Maybe give Harries and one of our many LBs a run out. Westbrooke, Oz and anyone else who had covid could do with a rest. Bring in Barrett, Hargreaves, Rodman and get Ayunga match fit

I might have dreamt this but isnt Ehmer suspended for next league game ? If that's the case I'd start Little at RB and play Ehmer in middle with Harries. Protect Kilgour & Baldwin for Sat. Think McCormick & Oztuhmer both unavailable for this competition so potentially chance for Barrett or Rodman to start. Any extra revenue helps so although I'd make a few changes I'd still like to see us get through

Regardless, I very much doubt there will be this many changes. I fully expect a strong side, with both Nicholson and Hanlan starting, if fit. Also Day in goal, as that allows for more flexibility within selection rules anyway. Little at Right Back, with Ehmer moving in the middle to rest one of the CBs, even trying a potential pairing for the future might be worthwhile. i.e. not necessarily seeing who to rest, but who will likely play alongside Ehmer - if he is seen as one of the two long-term. I don't see Ehmer as a long-term RB, so it's a case of thinking of the strongest CB pair for the future. Also, if Little is seen as a bit of a risk, Ehmer could easily move out to the right again, if Little breaks down during the game. UTG!

I'll be amazed if Nicholson starts only 3 days after not even being on the bench in a big FA Cup tie.

Tough one as I’d like to win for momentum/confidence but this is also a great opportunity to get some game time into fringe players - and we may end up needing some of those fringe players in the first XI over the next few months with our hectic fixture schedule.
I’d probably go for something like:
__________Day Little__Kilgour_Baldwin__Koiki ______Grant__Westbrooke Rodman__McCormick__Barrett _________Ayunga
There’s no way I’d play Hanlan in this as he’s by far our best out-and-out striker and barely gets a breather in the league, and I’d let Oztumer play the full 90 seeing as he won’t be playing v Charlton on the weekend.
EDIT: Balls, no Oz. McCormick for Oz then.

Oztumer has already played in this seasons ELF trophy for Charlton so he can’t be selected Tuesday

Great chance to give Barret a bit more carrot.. another outing - get fit lad, this is what you're missing - and players like Liddle, Koiki. Ayunga too as he's back could benefit from a throwaway match IMO.

We should play a strong side but at the same time it is a good chance for a few players who have been on the bench recently to get some game time. Liddle, Little, Koiki, Rodman, Harries, Barrett, Hargreaves etc. Would be good to see some of them get a start.
Maybe this is a good year to get to the final. At least playin in an empty Wembley will avoid the whole should you, should you not go boycott debate!
