A fairly even first half, Wigan occasionally playing some decent football going forward but untidy at the back and we need to exploit this in the second half.
No lack of effort from our lads, still need that extra bit of sharpness in the final third.

Disappointed with Hanlon again so far tonight He has been awful since Oxford Agree I guess he has a lot of weight on his shoulders, lets hope he gets a break second half. |

Can't fault the effort or application from our players in that half but another 45 mins that shows how little quality there is in this squad in all areas of the pitch. Really hope we can scrape together enough goals from somewhere to stay up and take stock in the summer.

In nearly 50 years of going to watch football I can’t honestly remember one good game when the wind is like this.
As nearly always it’ll probably take a mistake to decide this. An over or under hit pass.

In case anyone’s just come in and read the comments, we’re not being completely outplayed. We’ve actually had 10 shots to Wigan’s 3, four corners to their 2 and 51% possession. It’s anyone’s guess who the wind favoured in that half but we’re bang in this game and I fancy us to take the points if we keep going as we have done in the first half. UTG!

We've pressed the ball well and won it back a lot higher than under previous managers which is a definite positive. Wind making it tricky to play but we need to keep the ball better when it goes forward, Hanlan has struggled to hold it up well enough. Defensively we've been solid which is a plus, with the wind behind us 2nd half get some shots away. We'll have to pass the ball better though anything even slightly overhit will run away.

Will be difficult to judge Barton on tonight, the wind is playing havoc, that said an even game between 2 poor sides, just hope there are 4 poorer sides come May

I'm honestly not sure what we expect - Management changes, formation changes, team changes - I am happy not to lose. Anyone who thinks we should be higher than we are is deluded. And that is a funny thing to comment on when so many slate the team but FFS get a grip and get behind the new manager. We are in a relegation battle and the league position does not lie - We are not a good team at this time and let the manager bed in with his proven support and save us from relegation. JB is the best manager we could have hoped for but to judge him after 24 hours is just mental Questioning who anybody can say that was a good half for JB is different than question his ability, the truth seems to be we're a poor team and he'll have his work cut out keeping us up, although god knows why he's picked Hanlan as our only striker, Ayunga must wonder what he's got to do to get a start. |

Ayunga has played his way into the team IMO |
