Do you think we would take 40,000 to Wembley again if we got there in this seasons play offs?

Looking at the current clubs in the top 7, there is no team who will take more then 10,000. So if we did have to go to a play-off final, even with 15,000 we would have more Gasheads there then our opponents. A far figure would be around 15 - 20,000 gasheads.

Wow, there's nothing like getting ahead of ourselves! ? Looking at our attendances recently I'd be very disappointed/surprised if we took less than 20000.

We'd get the same as we always do. Our average crowds only down something like 10% on last season.

Nothing wrong with having a large dormant fan base. It can only help if we ever get any success. And if we don't, they don't exactly do any harm.

We've been so starved of success at Rovers lately, and even across the river, I can't see why we wouldn't take 40K again or perhaps even more, as does it really matter if it's a Conference or Div 2 Play off final if it's a chance of a day out at Wembley and see the Gas get promoted? As a bonus I assume at this level prices might even be reasonable as well?

Wembley is Wembley. 30,000 to 40,000 would be expected imo.

I think any club probably has at least twice as many frequent supporters as its average attendance. Probably half the crowd - maybe two-thirds or even three-quarters - don't go to every home game, but still attend frequently. When the club gets a must-see game, like a playoff or a huge cup-tie, everyone makes that one of their games.
At that point, they all say, "Look at this lot, suddenly turning up for the glory!" I'll bet 12-15,000 frequent attenders make up our season average of say 5,800.
Just a half-educated guess.

I think that's a fair assumption going on pay on the day fans I know.... i'll say I know 10 pay on the day fans who go to between say 3 and 15 home matches....

Yep they will come crawling from back out of the woodwork! Would you rather see 34,000 fair-weather occasional fans stay at home and just the true dedicated 6,000 regulars turn up then? They aren't like South Korean Man Utd fans who only ever watch on TV and buy replica shirts. They are mainly genuine fans who for dozens of reasons never attend matches. The main reason probably being that we've been cr*p for 13 years.

I'm not gonna lie though as it will irritate me a bit when if I'm sat next to someone who doesn't half of the player's names.
