If the thinkable happens and we win lots of games and finish in top ten do u think that Joey Barton will get us into playoffs next season?

I love your optimism and positivity, however there is no way I see us getting near top 10 this season, anything above the relegation zone would be nice this season.
Us Gasheads always get carried away when it come to talking of our play off chances, whenever we put a couple results together everyone suddenly thinks it is a given. What I would like to see is us be in the play off and staying there and then maybe I think we could say yes we can do this. Alot of the time we don't even make it into the play off spots.
I think that if Joey can keep us up this year, then he does have a job to rebuild this squad. I am sure he knows and doesn't want to vocalise that there are some not up to it or at least not showing they are.

I suppose JB could be more Horfield based in June, so anything is possible...

I think there is every chance that Joey could get us into the play offs next season regardless of what league we are in. I see a real change of effort/energy since he came in and am really optimistic of our chances this reason to avoid the relegation. At the end of this season I think (like most clubs) we will see a lot of players contracts up - so activity may well be buzzing once again in the summer. I will have to dig up the data I made as haven't got it to hand but I think the following players are out of contract in the summer: Kelly, Bennett, Ogogo, Davies, Upson, Leahy, JvS, André, Little, Hare, Rodman, Tomlinson, Armstrong Loans end: Day, McCormick, Oztumer So if we keep none of them that is 16 players that need to be replaced. Would you keep any? and if so, who? Do you feel Barton would attract quality players or the opposite?

Top 10? Not a chance! The summit of our ambitions is to avoid relegation. We are in a mini league of 7 clubs where in all the liklihood the relegation teams will come from. Regardless of relegation or not, it's very probable that JB (if he is still manager) will overhaul the squad as much as possible. Clearly he will keep his cards close to his chest because he needs this current batch of players to keep us up.

Winners just don’t think like that. They just don’t. We have a winner in our management team now. This team will click and could win next four games.

Top ten, no, stay up ? certainly, challenge next season? certainly, retain, Davies if fit, 2 out of 3 of keepers. Leahy, and young Tomlinson has to be given the chance to make it, very talented PS OH, and try and sign McC.

I think there is every chance we will be in the play offs next season - The L2 ones.
I'm sure there are lots on here ( they wont admit to it ) that would prefer a successful season in L2 with a Wembley win to another 'hanging in there' season in L1 - Might actually cauterise the open wound we have self inflicted.
Of the list ... I would keep Leahy, try to get McCormick back however unlikely.... Day as I dont think Anssi will be back, Maybe Hare and Abs Ogogo - the rest can go bleed someone else.
The priority should be how we keep hold of JB and his team no matter where we are next season - the change in the players is hugely positive and I think he could go on to be hugely successful here if given the true backing by Board and Fans alike.

I think the bus will be remaining in the garage for now ... but no harm in giving it a bit of a wash and polish ready for August!

The only way we’re finishing in the top ten or playoffs is if we get relegated to league two. Mediocre season after mediocre season in league one has drained all hope from me that we can achieve success in the third tier. Feels like we’ve been on a slow and steady decline on the pitch for a while now.

Absolutely not would I prefer to see us relegated to league 2 just on the possibility that we make the play off and have a nice day out at Wembley.
League 1 survival all day long.

Why the hell not be positive and optimistic !
45 pts to play for let’s have it
Surely we deserve a bit of luck and the rub of the green after Wigan and Burton
In Jb we trust

If JB keeps us up then I think he would have done a fantastic job and will go on to get us in our highest finish next season. We have a lot of players who could improve enormously by next season and form the basi8s of a very good side with the players JB will bring in. I have every faith in JB but it is very questionable if he can keep us up this year with so few goals in the side. If he had had the January window I would have said 100% he would keep us up and with the games i9n hand we had at that time may also have got us pushing for the Play offs.

Looking at the above list I would retain Davies (if fit enough to play a full season), Leahy, JVS or Day (not both) and possibly Tomlinson. Try to acquire McCormick from Chelsea. The rest can be thanked for their services and wished the best.
