My only real criticism of Luke this season is his wastefulness in front of goal. For me, be should have been hitting 10 goals this season with the chances he’s had. Yesterday, he was superb in front of goal. If he carries on like that he could be the man to get us out of this mess. It’s a huge ask though.

Took both goals brilliantly and is far too good to stick around if I’m being honest. Just watched JB’s post match interview and couldn’t help but notice a bit of hypocrisy from him. I thought it odd to see him praise the referee. No wonder as LM’s second goal was clearly offside. Hanlon was 5 yards off and in line with their keeper so clearly interfering with play. You win some, etc. Absolutely right, I was waiting for it to be disallowed. But haven't we been the victims of a similar situation? Forget exactly what or when.

His form dropped off after his sending off against Burton but now he is back to his very best. Normally you don't get much out of loan players when in a relegation battle, they don't have to worry too much after their futures compared to those under contract.
Its such a shame he will never get to play in front of the fans he would have been a big fan favourite. Championship or top end of league one awaits him next season and fair play to him, he's earnt it.

Swindon being the most recent one and probably biggest mistake of the season.

First 10/10 from Frosty. Obvs we’d love to sign him, but has anyone seen if Chelsea fans/forums have picked up on how well he is doing here? Maybe one more season on loan with us rather than sell him to the Championship?! If we get relegated there is obviously no chance of him staying. If we do stay up I think there is a chance. He had a pretty poor experience on loan at Shrewsbury but has played most games with us this season, would he want to risk a season as a bit part player with a championship side? Perhaps he might prefer another season in league one with a side where he feels comfortable and knows he will be a key figure. Surely playing every week would be better for his long term career prospects? BTW does anyone know his contract situation at Chelsea? If he’s out of contract don’t Chelsea have to offer improved terms before they can request a fee?

Swindon being the most recent one and probably biggest mistake of the season. Please remind me what it was - did we score but it was disallowed because of offside, even though our player wasn't obscuring the keeper? Or was it we had a goal against despite opposing player blocking our keeper?

If we go down we would have zero chance (nor be deserving) of him joining. If we stay up... IF...and Barton is a longer term leader of the club, then there’s nothing to be lost in telling Luke we want to build a team around him to match Wael and Joeys vision and ambitions, then “break the bank” a bit to get him. In all honesty, it still fits the model as I think he will be fantastic in a few years and worth ridiculous money. I genuinely see a guy who loves the club he’s playing for right now and showing real passion and determination despite the poor season, no fans (nor ever having even played before them), tents for roof sections, and this just being a loan assignment. Peterborough would try to find a way, and IF we stay up, this should be a priority regardless of the Millwall links imho.

Not sure if this has been suggested before, but.... If we stay up and a top half champ team (or a big promoted team to the Champ) takes a punt on Luke, maybe an opportunity for an instant loan back to us! Gives the buying club a chance to see him progress playing regularly rather than bits and pieces from the bench. Especially if its a club with a JB connection? We can only hope...
