Wonderful second half today. First time we've been ahead and I haven't wanted the match to end.

Taylor is real class. To criticise him for not scoring every chance is ambitious, to say the least! No such striker has even been born, not Greaves, Lineker or Shearer. They all miss more than they score. The one-on-one today was good IMO: he really thumped it, on target, but the keeper blocked it. Fair enough. Not like earlier in the season, when nerves got to him, I think.

All the forward players DC is bringing in are the perfect types of players to compliment Taylor, in Bliss and Wall you've got big units who will charge like a machine into the spaces that Taylor creates and in goldburn we've got a player who I think is probably quite similar and is a good understudy for him. We've got two players for every position now other than left back I reckon and Lee brown is such a professional consistent strong player that that's the reason it hasn't really been mentioned by us. Mr reliable and the best left back we've had for a long time. Good options out wide for the first time in ages. Stuey in the middle with mansell compliment each other perfectly and the defence is arguably even better than it was last season which considering we've lost Smith says a lot about Trotman. I really like This squad I think we've got balance and adaptability that we haven't seen since god knows when. I'm one happy Gashead. The only thing wrong in the balance of the squad is,to many left sided players having to play on the right. With Della Verde on the right it is ok,but would prefer him on the left, but most others like Gosling struggle and our right footer Leadbitter is out of favour at the moment. But it is better than many we have had in recent times, and i can feel a bond growing with them and us,which bodes well

what little i saw was disappointing. hopefully what I saw wasn't a fair representation? looked heavy and awkward, but not in a good sense. Hopefully just lack of match fitness?

Anyone that would drop a striker that has the recent scoring/assist record over the last few games as Matty Taylor is in my opinion guided only by a reluctance to concede previous statements about said striker may have been misguided. ... sadly he's not a striker though. a very competent player, and clever, with excellent movement and a footy brain, but sadly not a striker. what is his recent scoring record? a couple of goals from open play this season. Numerous genuine, clear chances missed including 2 today. not quite sure how we fit him in the team, but I we will, and at the moment we should.

Very comfortable win. First half not great but Welling were so poo it was only a matter of time. Anyone know the away attendance as they had a grand total of zero in the seats? Earlier this season/last season we would have got 0-0 or lost against a team like welling, a great result and a real improvement hate to sound argumentative, but last year we didn't face any teams as poor as welling, or any semi-pro teams, or any teams with an average home attendance of 811.

Yes, more straight sideboard than runaway sideboard today. Also lost concentration once badly when he was pushed and made a huge thing of it to the ref, not noticing that the defender had slipped and the ball was rolling loose at the edge of the box. Could have scored if he'd been switched on. All forgiven though - he needs time and he could be really something. I much prefer Blisset though - he's very mobile and constantly giving the defence problems, not just with his size. An excellent signing IMO.

Don't be disappointed - remember my Gillian McKeith joke. We'll always have that. Ok, I probably do have lower standards than you, but I'm so used to seeing chances ballooned over the bar or completely fluffed (I include Match of the Day level here) that anything that "works the keeper" is a relief. He'd probably get 1 in 3 of those, I'd guess. Out of interest, if he gets 15 league goals this season (I think he will), would you count that as ok?
