Mate,Johnny Stack just phoned me.We have been going to Rovers games for 65 years.We have accepted we will never see a new ground in our lifetime.So sad how the Stadium issue has been allowed to drift with un -fulfilled hopes repeatedly .John pointed out that in 'Our Day' ,a lot of players in the Ray Mabbutt,Alfie Biggs era were Bristolians but times are very different now.We both agreed not to let the Rovers current situation re team and Dickensian stadium worry us.That's what we agreed but in reality it seems that we are as a club only going rapidly one way. You’ve certainly endured a lot of mediocrity! I’m approaching 50 and I’m wondering if I’ll see anything other than a deteriorating club, I’ve only seen us at Twerton and the Mem.... 2 of the worst grounds ever! We can but dream! UTG I'm approaching 48, seen us at Eastville, Azteca Twerton & The Mem. Even I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever see us in a shiny new Stadium' or even see us in the Championship (Division 1 & 2 in Old money) before the Premiership came along? Gas until I Die though! |

Interested to see Walker and Martinez get a game. They could be big players for us in league 2. Or the players to pull us clear . Never know all our young top players started somewhere. I’ll never forget Marcus Stewart’s debut |

We played a strong Cardiff side in pre season and a lot of the young players got run outs and performed admirably. At one point we had 7/8 youngsters on the pitch vs the likes of Aden Flint, Marlon Pack and Keiffer Moore.
Walker and Martinez were probably the pick of the bunch, great that they’re getting minutes to help their development as I think they’ll be big for us in the future.

where is Kieran Phillips, with nothing to lose in surprised he hasn't been on the bench recently didn't he return from Chippenham a while back? I thought at Oxford in the pizza cup he showed a bit a promise but hasn't featured since. Happy with that line up tho, utg

We played a strong Cardiff side in pre season and a lot of the youngsters got run outs and performed admirably. At one point we had 7/8 youngsters on the pitch vs the likes of Aden Flint, Marlon Pack and Keiffer Moore. We’ve got nothing to lose anyway so may as well play the youngsters and test them for next season. Amazing to see Jaakola back, especially during the international break. C’mon Rovers, show us some pride if nothing else and go down with a fight.

What I seen in preseason I was very impressed and really expected him to play a part in the first team this season. Could be asking a lot to make his debut under this pressure and against a team like Sunderland though. |

Still tutando doesn't get a chance?  Him with leahy further up on the left hand side would be great to see but that's my personal opinion. As for the 2 surprising additions today well.... at least we are trying new players but the 2 picked today haven't even been bench warmers all season let alone players knocking on the door for a start in the first team! Think we're down but if we can't beat the dross at the bottom of the table when we play them then maybe we can beat a team at the top of the table? I really don't know anymore apart from the fact that we deserve a performance from the 11 out there today. |
