Seems a lifetime ago we beat Lincoln away and went 4 unbeaten away from home! Literally 6 months ago But were totally useless at home where you need to pick up points if you are going to avoid relegation. Ayunga and Hanlan haven't forgotten how to score they are simply to inexperienced for this level of football. Surely goal scoring is goal scoring? So many forwards have gone up the divisions with ease. Lambert and Vardy spring to mind.

This squad of footballers can be characterised as totally anonymous. The team cannot dominate the opposition by superior skills and organisation. On the other hand they cannot beat teams by physical dominance. They rarely keep a clean sheet and they rarely score goals. The only run the team goes on is a succession of defeats.
It is mediocrity at best. The above characteristics typify a team destined for relegation. Just look at the table.

Can't see how Rovers would suddenly be a promotion chasing team in Division2. Plymouth must have managed it under Lowe? Although Bolton and Bradford show it's no easy task, Southend show how difficult it can be!

I just can't put my finger on why this season has been such a shambles. Jaakola is for me the best keeper in the Division. Granted he's missed a lot of games. Ehmer on a free transfer seemed good business, he was Gillingham Captain and had some of the best stats in the Division in terms of Headers won and interceptions. McCormick has proved his quality. Westbrooke, again on a free transfer seemed good business, he didn't play 30 odd games for the team who won the league last season because he's sh*t. Nicholson like McCormick has shown his quality. Oztumer on loan, looked a good acquisition, proven quality at this level. Those 6 players I would suggest most clubs in this Division would of taken them. Yes, the terrible Defending and lack of goals is the reason we're down the bottom and plenty of imbalance within the squad, but with those players we shouldn't be near the bottom. It is baffling. For me it’s simple. We don’t have any goalscorers and we can’t stop conceding awful goals from set-pieces or mistakes. The balance in the side is all over the place, with nobody in the middle capable of battling and doing the donkey work and poor full backs.

Kilgour and Leahy have played in nearly every game. I need say no more. Leahy's had a decent season and Kilgour was OK last season alongside Craig. It's Ehmer failing to step up into Craig's boots probably the main issue.

Can't see how Rovers would suddenly be a promotion chasing team in Division2. No chance. History tells us it will take between 5 and 10 years to mount a challenge. It’s disrespectful to all of the well-run clubs with nicer grounds than ours to think we will come straight back up. We will have to earn that by building the right squad with the right manager and having a big slice of luck. I fear this is just the start of a dreadful era at Bristol Rovers Football Club.

It's a sad day when people on the forum are offering each other out. It seems that it's now acceptable to abuse other posters. If somebody gets on your tits, just put them on ignore FFS - it's a tough time to be a Gashead as it is, without winding up and infighting clogging up the threads. UTG. Agree Tilly. I wasn't even trying to wind a certain person up after they called me a very nasty word. I'm guessing they've never seen the rocky horror picture show. I got called a selfish c U Next Tuesday for starting a match thread. Just let that sink in how silly that sounds.

I've maintained often that releasing Craig was Garner's biggest mistake.

Had high hopes of Ehmer but a Captain he hasn't been by any stretch of the imagination. So wish Craig and Sercs had stayed.Sercs booked today but played well it seems in their 4-0 victory.Imagine that FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sercs could well be back in L1 next season.

I can’t work out why we played Dave T at left centre half? I know we have injury issues but Baldwin, Martinez, Little and Leahy can all play in a back 3. In game substitutions baffle me too. Needing a goal and not giving the hard working Daly any minutes on the pitch and then bring Hare and Barrett on in the 90th minute? To be fair to JB he was going to bring them on around the 80(?) mins mark but learnt his lesson from earlier in the season when we conceded at a corner. What's baffling is why Daly's being ignored, I assume something's amiss between JB and him, perhaps he spoke up in support of Ehmer!

Had high hopes of Ehmer but a Captain he hasn't been by any stretch of the imagination. He looks to me like he is just at the club to collect his wages. He hasn’t done enough in the quarters to make me feel any differently.

We got out the Conference first time of asking, it took Luton 5 years, and look at Wrexham. We then did it again getting out of League 2 the following year. It can be done, as we've proven ourselves.

I have never heard such a damning condemnation of BRFC as that delivered by Joe Barton today. He could not have done proper due diligence prior to accepting the Manager's position as surely he and any other self respecting Person would have ran a mile from us. I called for Garner to quit Jan 14th 2020 as I could see the damage his presence was inflicting on us. Wael could have intervened and sacked him at any time but sat on his hands believing that his vision via Garner was the way forward. Wael could have intervened as Garner set about signing a squad devoid of Goals but did nothing and when he finally sacked Garner he stood aside as Tisdale couldn't or wouldn't sign a goalscorer and when Barton arrived it was all too late and we await relegation with almost no chance of avoiding it. This last year has cost Wael about £3m and his dithering and blind faith in Garner and Widdrington and his own poor leadership is nothing short of a calamity of epic proportions. Wael has saved us and condemned us at the same time.

We would be comfortable with a certain JCH still with us. Biggest lesson this season? Replace a goal scorer. Not a case of replacing a goal scorer like for like it’s a case of just trying to replace that goal scorer. We didn’t even bother trying with the players we bought in.
