“once we get our hands on the recruitment side of it and bring the players in that I know can do the job, Bristol Rovers will be successful.”
“Someone has recruited them for something, they’ve seen something in them whereas I personally don’t see the same things that maybe they’re seeing.“
On the staff... “I know exactly who it is and who is going to leave and the owner is aware of that.“
If Wael is backing Barton then Geordie Tommy should be relieved of his duties today and this charade bought to an end.

Paul Cook: “But I think Joey’s got a genuine good argument with the first one. It’s hard for Joey at the minute because he’s had a few which has gone against him. “In my opinion it is a possible red. But over a period of time [these things even themselves out]. I get where Joey is because you feel like everyone’s against you" When will these things start evening out then? The biggest fairytale in football is that refereeing decisions even themselves out over the course of a season. I don't buy into the whole "conspiracy" thing, as it sounds like sour grapes. However, hypothetically, if referees talked to each other often to vent and give each other advice, you would wonder if the name Joey Barton comes up as someone that constantly talks derogatively about officials. I doubt they're his biggest fans. Best way to get people on your side in my experience is through understanding and diplomacy. Perhaps Joey should try that, as his outspoken ways are certainly not doing him many favours right now.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but if we’d known how little faith Barton had in this squad we really should have let Geordie Tommy take charge for the rest of the season and then appoint Barton or A N Other in the summer.

Thing is having had a 3rd of the season with these players he knows more about their strengths and weakness and what needs improving than a new manager would if we sacked him And brought another manager in the summer. After bringing him in it makes sense to give him a transfer window , if we did it with Garner then we should definitely do it with Barton. I don’t disagree we let him have the summer but if he does, the board should commit to at least January. Impossible to have a summer revamp and make it all work in 2 months. We have to commit and follow it through. Yes like I said in another post give him the summer to build his squad to the best of his abilities and then until at least the next window.

Could not have done any worse, like joey but we have had no bounce, injuries have not helped and some performances have been better but littered with poor defending errors, and not enough goals scored. Tommy would be squirming in interviews now as he was responsible for signings, HMS p@$$ the league we will be on the sea bed by Blackpool

I've said all along we should have left Widdrington in charge until the end of the season. "the players are good enough" he said, well he could prove it on the pitch where it counts. The only match we even looked vaguely comfortable this season under Ben Garner was the home win vs a poor Northampton and that was against 10 men for half an hour. Thats after 2 windows and a long summer. If that was the pinnacle of the players performances for a manager THEY signed for and THEY believed in, what chance was there for Tisdale and Barton?

TW was DoF it wasn't simply a case of leaving him in charge, we would have needed his approval or he could have claimed constructive dismissal if we'd tried to force him into being the manager, unless TW's a fool I assume the last thing he would have agreed to do is become our manager. Our away performance at Gillingham under TW was typical of most of our away performances, so I doubt TW would have done any better if he had remained in charge.

If 3 managers have failed to get anything from the players he recommended, and ultimately cost our L1 status, surely he has to go anyway. He may well have realised that after the first 2 failed, so I would have thought putting his future in his own hands would have been tempting.

The loss at Gillingham probably taught him one needed one.

I’ve said this in other threads but I’ll say it again
Barton has turned up KNOWING how football works - at higher levels than this
And he’s asked probably very reasonable questions and either hasn’t been given answers or has been given blank looks
If he has got answers it appears he finds them laughable
Wael doesn’t have clue, he’s trusted Widdrington and Starnes they’ve sold him the “let’s develop players and make money “ dream and in the blink of an eye we are in league 2
I’d call that negligent and JB is 100 percent spot on
of course Wael owns BRFC , he’s entitled to do what he likes with his toy
Shame on his directors. shame on Garner who has been the architect of our demise , shedding Ogogo, Craig, Ollie Clarke, Sercombe for a pipe dream of translating football theory into league one reality
Shame on those who have failed to spend the JCH proceeds on a proven striker . We are the year old lion in the jungle against bigger cats with manes
The team never had a chance, JB is , again, spot on
We are today, now, a laughing stock , a huge embarrassing mess of a club dissolving into civil war whilst we gulp for League one air like a drowning man with so little fight left before we take that first, harrowing swallow of water
I am at a loss, We’ve seen some dark days , I use to wince at the vitriol GC received from a large percentage of this forum but by God I bet you all wish we could see a tenth of the grit his team showed among the lambs that Garner recruited a mere 12 months ago and purport to represent our club today
My fervent wish will be that hurricane Barton rips through this place from Starnes to the tea lady and cuts every bit of crap away , every right on modern thought, every piece of muddle headed rhetoric , every lily livered cosseted entitled player until we have 15 men who feel some pride and honour in wearing our shirt
And once that happens we can build again
For now it’s eyes front and ignore the jibes from south of the river , what a burden we carry

A restart in more than one way is required to get us back on the tracks and given time and backing financially I can see Joey becoming as big a legend as GF & DC.
