Simple solution, as these clubs complain about extra teams, increase the prem back up to 23 and when they complain "well you introduced all these extra games".

UEFA should boot them out of their competitions now. Null and void and share prize money amongst those left.
Leagues should notify them, that they will be expelled at the end of their relevant seasons.
f**k the lot of them

I like the idea of deducting them points just for signing up to it whether or not it gets off the ground. If they all got deducted 50 points each then Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool would be relegated and it would be a fight between Leicester and West Ham for the title. Might force them to quit the domestic leagues if the only big sixers route to European competition this season was by winning one of the cups. Once the ESL exists it sounds like none of the sports broadcasters will touch it for fear of being branded hypocrites...so that might help kill it. The government can easily make life impossible for them too....by demanding a police presence is mandatory at all professional football events but that only domestically organised football matches will be supplied by the police...hence ESL games can be scheduled in England but cannot be played here due to the unavailability of the police to maintain order! Interesting point on the broadcasters. That's made imagine it's highly likely the ESL will setup their own Netflix style subscription service so all the money goes straight to them, with complete control over what gets aired, who watches what, and where the money goes. Hadn't thought about that until you mentioned the broadcasters but mark my words, I bet this is where it's going. Exclusive subscription based "soccer" entertainment... 😡 I hadn't thought of that either, but I complete agree with you now that you've mentioned it. Definitely this is where it's heading.

Is it wrong that I’m sort of enjoying seeing UEFA, Premier League and FIFA absolutely sh**ting it? Not wrong at all. For the PL to complain about someone else`s greed, is beyond parody. It`s like Hitler complaining about the noise of the bombing.

I don't support the proposals, but ultimately will it make that much difference? The last 8 of the Champions League usually consists of the same old clubs anyway. I imagine once FIFA, UEFA and the Premier League realise they will lose all their best players and with it money, they'll drop their threats and play ball. Clubs from lesser footballing Nations and Eastern Europe may have a chance to compete with others more on their financial level? It makes a massive difference, there would be no European competition for those clubs outside the ESL so Leicester for example or West Ham if the finish top 4 will have no European Cup to enter. Make no mistake the trickle down of the 400m to clubs in the pyramid will stop and it may be the death knell for many.

Its been drifting this way for a long time. The result of the global market i guess. When liverpool go on tour in australia and sell out huge stadiums you realise they dont even need anfield anymore.
It will happen whether now or 10 years time.

Just seen Chelsea supporters statement this morning. Apparently it would upset fans around the world. No it won't, the fact the Premier league is sold around the world was the start of the issue. The fans in the far east are being catered for, your pay at the gate people are small fry in monetary terms

I would do what Neville said and dock them points now as a warning.
If they decide to go, don't stand in their way. Boot them out the PL, FA Cup, League Cup, etc.
If I was the EFL I would try and get the PL merged into the EFL so TV money is shared fairly and this kind of thing can never happen again.
No EPPP so clubs like Rovers have an incentive to develop young players without Chelsea snapping them up for peanuts.
Basically a reset to 1992, but the PL never happened. That's my dream

The simple solution to this is for the governing bodies to ban them from all domestic competitions . It is quite clear from the statement last night the club's state that they will still remain in their own countries leagues/competitions. Quite simply it's all about taking in more money and this will not go ahead if they can't stay as they are in their home countries competitions. Ban them I say and let them carry on!

I agree, but do FIFA, the FA or the PL have the balls and/or the legal right to expel the 6 clubs involved?

I agree, but do FIFA, the FA or the PL have the balls and/or the legal right to expel the 6 clubs involved? I am sure FiFa and UEFA have stuff in their rules about unsanctioned competitions. As for The PL (not sure where the FA fall into this), but if the other 14 PL clubs vote to kick them out for breaking the rules, which I am sure they have relating to the pyramid under the FA and includes the FA membership of UEFA etc, otherwise the Premier League wou;dn't exist as it does currently

I agree, but do FIFA, the FA or the PL have the balls and/or the legal right to expel the 6 clubs involved? I hear they’ve already served notice of intent to take legal action against any attempts to prevent them from continuing to play in their national competitions. This will have been a long time in the planning so you can bet their top lawyers have been working on this for ages and will be confident. Wishful thinking but it all the top players took a collective stance against this ...

I thought the last TV deal had an increase that more than covered gate receipts. They could have let people in for nothing and still made more money. A large chunk of pitch side ads are for the far east audience. Was in Singapore a few years ago and bar entertainment on a Saturday evening was the 3pm (uk time) kick off games. The interest - & therefore income - was huge

It's money grabbing at it's best.
