Your rap sheet will make Joey blush at this rate Go on then, ban me? If that’s how you feel about Gasheads trying to get their opinions across in a sensible way which might contravene with the unwritten rules of this tiny forum. You’re the moderator. Balls in your court. Me? I’d like to stay and converse with other Gasheads about the football club we share and love. Come on harrystoke, don’t try and get banned just after joining, no need to provoke so many on here. You want to stay and converse with others, just do that, it’s not hard. The rules are written. And, as one of the mods frequently says, don’t act like a dick and you’ll get on fine. UTG!

The OP asks 'is Wael taking the club in the wrong direction'. IMHO no , but time will tell. Should he step aside if further investment is offered? I am sure if Wael thought any offer was right for the club he would welcome it. All i do know is the previous regime took us to the conference for the first time in our history and far from running up debt investing in credible stadium plans they wasted millions on surveys, plans for stadiums that Rovers did not have control over and appeals that every one with half a brain knew they would lose.

How many million/billionaires are lining up to pour money into a loss making League Two team?
For all of Waels faults, he's passionate about Rovers and is putting his money where his mouth is.
I can't ask for more than that

He is passionate alright, but also incredibly naive and that makes me severely worried going forwards.

That's just nonsense, the UWE stadium plans always seemed very credible, even Wael thought they were for 18+ months after he bought the club, if NH hadn't appealed the plans would have died and Wael may have never bought the club, they were a means to an end.

Let's propose for a second, that every you say is true, what purpose are you suggesting WAQ has purchased the club? Debt upon debt upon debt, just to decide to leave one day, completely out of pocket. Even if we are completely pessimistic and say he sells the stadium, the land doesn't cover the kind of debt you're proposing we are in.
Without a stadium, even keeping the club afloat is just a black hole for his cash, if funds were running low, I imagine he would be screaming from the rooftops to get out with as much of his investment as possible.
Have we gone backwards? Well honestly that's an impossible question to answer, as I absolutely believe there wouldn't be a club if Higgs didn't manage to sell, and we'd be gone before covid even arrived on our shores. The debt we have and the debt we had are not the same thing, its the equivalent to chucking £1000 on England with money from payday loans, in the hope it lands you a shiny new car. The extortionate fees will catch up with you, and personally I believe they were at most 12 months from catching up with us. So can you go backwards from liquidation? I suggest you find a Macclesfield or Bury fan to ask...

The only opinion I have about this thread is that there is so much crap in the 1st post its unreal and even more crap from the same poster in responses. So many points why but I will just select two. I can't be arsed to cover all of the points because I have no intention to enter into a argument with someone who is playing games, being a WUM with a clear agenda. The two points I will make is enough on it's own to see you are playing games.
1) Saying crap like "I’m concerned that Wael is rapidly running out funds and has bitten off more than he can chew" is complete utter garbage. You haven't got a clue how much money Wael has to have such fake concerns. I doubt anyone on this forum knows Wael's true financial situation.
2) Saying "At least Higgs fought for the club to get a new stadium. I’ve seen a distinct lack of fight from Wael on that front so far." And "See any plans from Wael? Any evidence that he’s willing to go to court and fight for the club’s new stadium?" And "Care to show these mythical plans? From day one Wael piped up and said he’d secure us a new ground yet I’ve seen nothing since. Those are just the facts my dear friend." Facts my arse! You haven't got a clue what Wael has done regarding a new stadium to make such accusations. Just because he hasn't made everything public for you to see doesn't mean he's done nothing. You're the sort of person who would drive through a red light with your eyes closed and deny it was ever a red light because you 'didn't see it'. FFS!
Then you have the audacity to say "Reasoned arguments are ones that have been thought through, argued and expressed logic behind them. I believe I have met all three criteria." Well I can't see how you "thought through" and "expressed logic" with most of the stuff you have spouted. I believe you have met just one of the criteria for a reasoned argument. That's just "argue". And like I said already, I can't be arsed to argue with someone playing games.
Night to you sir.

Even the beloved training ground is having issues, with planning having to be amended halfway through construction after the architects found that the building would not be fit for purpose for a football club. The result? A smallish building designed in the 1990s with a comically lack of windows, a small dingy shed for the gym, a couple of nice pitches and nothing much else. Will they be in for the start of next season? I encourage people to look at the training facilities of Oxford or Fleetwood, or MK Dons, to see how much of a downgrade this is to equivalent football clubs. Rovers fans lap it up due to the lack of progress thats ever been made off the field which is fair enough, but this development has not yet levelled the playing field to other modern football clubs around us, not by a long stretch. I disagree with your interpretation of progress on the training ground. The exterior design of the existing permission was used because it allowed an immediate start and not a prolonged wait acquiring a new planning permission. It was stated at the start, that it was initially for the first team squad and expansion would be required if the academy was eventually to move in. The dates on the architects’ drawings make it clear that work was underway on planning the extension, before work to build the clubhouse had even started. It is normal not to have large windows for changing rooms and showers for obvious reasons, just as the offices, dining areas etc have larger windows. The architects’ comments are designed to get permission to double the size of the clubhouse, rather than evidence of some dreadful oversight. The gym at 20m x 8m, is a pretty fair size and plenty of commercial gyms have exactly the same construction technique and no external windows. A second phase is likely to include a 3G pitch and another grass pitch. If you want to compare similar club’s training facilities you could have chosen Plymouth Argyle for instance, but that wouldn’t have supported your argument. Fleetwood’s training ground (the only one you mention actually owned by the club), is indeed excellent, but cost £8m.
