Wael deleted his signing tweet... guess i can go to sleep then Lol. I do like the guy but that's quite a nice little microcosm of the general running of the club at board level.

I think business has been done today, and 4 signings will be announced tomorrow.

I was not his biggest fan but appears to be a bog-standard right back and the constant changing in positions/tactics didnt help him during his stay with us. I can't help thinking we have not learnt and the current "wing-backs" are attack-minded players and not comfortable defensively which with our pedestrian back 3 is causing us more issues than it should.

I wish I had your optimism! I hope you are right though or it will be another long season. Normally I am very positive but the last couple of seasons have worn me down.

Well Given that zero tasks have been undertaken well so far....any faith? Prepare to be disappointed with tomorrow's announcements. My expectations are so low, that's nearly impossible. Now, if Mr Barton admits he is not up to the job and resigns....that's a good day.

I’m getting more and more disheartened the closer the transfer window gets to closing, I’m almost certain it’s going to be the two older guys Clarke and Whelan and a panic loan ( if we’re lucky ) I’ll still be checking my phone every five mins tomorrow , I knew I should of booked a day off

It’s way too early to say we will be fighting relegation or challenging for promotion. On paper a few of our players are good enough for League 1, let alone league 2. So 4 or 5 player’s could make a massive difference. On paper though, that’s the problem. On paper Ehmer and Westbrooke were good signings. On paper we have a competitive squad for this league. We always go through these phases at Rovers, where we fancy ourselves at the beginning of the season and claim to be putting together the best squad for division ect ect. I remember it well last time we got relegated from League One. It seems to me as if we do better when we’re unfancied, when we put a squad together that’s more than the sum of its parts and go under the radar. We never cope with the favourites tag very well and this season seems to be proving that once more. Good point, only time we have done it was our conference season.

Thought you've always blamed Yeovil's demise on their over reliance on the loan market? If we got promoted with the present squad only Rodman, Pitman and possibly Hughes and Coutts could be considered to old, replacing those, plus any oldies we sign this week, hardly seems a major task. Yup, old farts and loanees. Don't see much different to what we're embarking on. The number of those players is really neither here nor there - what matters is the role they play in the team. What differentiates an "old fart" from "experienced pros" like Craig & Ogogo or Lines, McChrystal & Mansell, I guess none of them were signed by Barton?

It needs to be or we are non league again next season. In all fairness signing 4/5 or even Two very good L2 players is going to make the difference between us staying up or going down this year, forget promotion talk as that's pie in the sky! Joey Barton will ultimately leave this club later this year or before the season ends, when we are in the bottom two in December or when his court cases happen and the club acts. He could walk before as the excuses he uses are unbelievable and it's only a matter of time before he turns on Wael, the clubs infrastructure and us fans.Anyone but him is to blame. And I say this as I was a fan of his before the season started but his recent actions take the Mick. We need 4/5 signings of good L1 quality so the next manager has something to work with to keep us up.Its that bad for us right now don't fool yourself to think otherwise. It’s way too early to say we will be fighting relegation or challenging for promotion. On paper a few of our players are good enough for League 1, let alone league 2. So 4 or 5 player’s could make a massive difference. Why would they unless they were top quality for this league? Adding 5 players that add nothing to our squad would mean nothing. I don't see any of our players that JB has brought in that are of L1 quality apart from Finley, and the Lincoln lad.Well Pitman but his fitness and age is of doubt now. We are in Trouble I can't see why people can't see that. This man has had enough time to change something at our club, but what's that... Again I was PRO Barton until weeks ago!

When Ehmer signed lots of Gillingham said he wasn’t that good and that the other centre back covered him a lot. Heard good things about Westbrook , but a lot did say he was light weight. Only seen good comments about Anderson and he looks ok so far. Fans were surprised Clarks dropped to this level, but he’s been injured. Same with Finley and he seems to be doing ok now he’s getting fit. Collins looks like he has something about him as well. They need to work as a team more, but a few player’s can make a bid difference.

What differentiates an "old fart" from "experienced pros" like Craig & Ogogo or Lines, McChrystal & Mansell, I guess none of them were signed by Barton? Ogogo is 31 - he was 29 when he signed for us. Chris Lines is 35 - he was 20 when he made his debut for us and 29 when he signed the second time. McChrystal is 37 - he was 29 when he signed for us. Lee Mansell is 38 - he was 31 when he signed for us. So in answer to your question what differentiates them ... age does.
