'Cos he's still the manager and I doubt Wael's got the time to sack him and employ a replacement before the transfer window closes? So we're potentially allowing him to bloat the wage bill even more with more of his 35 year old mates from up North? Got a real bad feeling now about him being in charge, totally different from how I felt when he took over which was positive. All based on his performance thus far, or the lack of them since he has been in charge. We are a bottom 5 side based on his signings and performance so far, unless we make a change we are in a fight for our survival in L2. I never want a person to lose there job but he is performing, stats wise worse than our worse manager ever in - in BG...how that has be achieved is beyond me Act now or DC squads effort in 2015 will be outdone by the shambles that BG/PT and now JB have created.

I listened carefully and when he says ‘five’, he’s not clear whether that’s five deals in AND out or just incoming. He seems to say mutter something about a ‘couple’ in and then says maybe 27 or 28 having been moved on by the end of the window from a current total of 24. He mentions 18 new players in total but I’m not sure if he means that’s the current total or what he expects to get to (anyone know how many new faces we have so far?). So I’m wondering if he means 2 incoming, with 2 or 3 outgoing? If so, I’m worrying that the two incoming might just be the ageing players we have training with us.
We’ll see I suppose.

He said 4 are basically done. Guessing the two oldies on trial plus another 2.

In Barton's post-match presser he suggests we're looking to bring in 5 more players. This raises some questions.... Why is he being trusted to overhaul the squad even more? Who will he be looking to bring in? Where do we realistically need to be strengthening if promotion is to be achieved? If we let him bring 5 more players in based on what he has already been allowed to bring in I am seriously worried. We went down a route of bring young players in under Garner to develop and potentially sell on I think ? could be wrong but seemed to at least have some longevity in what we were doing, despite if he was good enough or not. We have now done a complete U turn and are signing over aged players with no resale value and very little quality other than being experienced. I am in no way a Tommy W fan but at least I could see what we were trying to do. I have no idea now at all of where we are heading under JB.

Leon Clarke and Glenn Whelan definitely coming in with two possibly three others.
Expecting Jaakkolla Kilgour Westbrooke Harries Hargreaves Barrett and Grant all leaving.

We just need a team to get us back at the first attempt Dont care if they are all 60 plus if it works.widdringtons ideology pushed us back 5 years and destroyed any hope for a stadium until we constantly challenge at the top end of div 1. Which strangely we could have done after Ipswich dec 2019.

What over aged players has JB actually signed other than Pitman? Most of the players he's signed should really by in the prime of their careers.

With Whelan Coutts Finley Anderson Rodman in midfield we don't require Grant he was part as was Upson and Westbrooke of the relegation side.

Not sure where you have got your info from but in his interview JB said letting Baldwin leave was partly due to allowing Kilgour & Taylor opportunities to develop. The others for sure but Kilgour leaving would be a big surprise to me.

Needs more than 5!!!!! We need 2 strikers a central Midfielder, 2 wing backs ( and I mean actual wingbacks not rodman and Anderson who are not wingbacks ) and at least one commanding centre half. All of that and this Side may stand a chance. The recruitment thus far has been completely unbalanced and in the whole awful.
What we will end up with is whelan Clarke and f**k knows what else.

Let someone who knows what they are doing have a go

He's a young, versatile player with bags of talent. Considering he's been asked to play three different positions under three different managers, he's actually coped fairly well.

So he's hoping for 5 more in and based on what we've seen so far, we need them.
Of course they need to be quality signings that improve the starting 11, not just squad players to make up the numbers.
Sounds like he's fairly confident of 4 but less so on the 5th.
These signings will make or break our season because our squad as it stands isn't good enough, whoever we have in charge.
