Anybody else thinking that the players they want out are putting there foot down and refusing to go If we are trying to force them to a club they don’t want to play for, somewhere with less pay or higher house prices, an area their wives/girlfriends are unwilling to live then why shouldn’t they sit tight on their current contracts? They are not pieces of meat or saleable assets on a computer game.

The only odd thing about these 4 is they have been without a club all window if Barton wanted them why not get the in early July like the others then they would be match fit and ready to go Nail. On. Head. I can just imagine the outcry if he'd done that - "Why didn't he wait to see if better options became available later in the window?"

I think the problem relates not to signings but getting departures off of the books. Is no news good news? All seems a bit late to me. If this is the case, I feel Joey might not be happy about it. What then? Only a few hours and we will know what’s gone on today behind the scenes. Just plain odd. Very odd.

I think they probably have a few sorted but are waiting to do a multi player announcement like they did earlier in the window. I have no doubt we will sign a few players. Whether they are any good or not will remain to be seen!

He only has to arrange loans out of the club, what a waste of time and effort the bloke is. Still seething about the way he was lording it up with his mates on a podcast when he was given a job. It was as though he couldn't believe his luck. Gardening I wager

If we fail to bring in 4/5 players like he said he wanted then I could very easily see JB turn on the club by saying how can he work within a limited budget and gain promotion etc. That could well be his new go to card from now until January.

Every club is in for players. There is also a fair amount of guzzumping and hijacking of deals going on. Wouldn’t be the first time a player has chosen another club over us at the last minute.
5-6pm is usually the time where unveiling’s happen so let’s just sit tight and wait.

If that happens and JB does start making his excuses than he has to be shown the door. We can't afford for him to p1ss everyone off, not get performances from players, whinge and moan etc etc from now until Christmas and the next window opens. We will be relegated by then.

Invent a rumour about a particular player may be leaving, have several poster declare it’s a disgrace if said player goes. Strange mentality to make it up in the first place and then to be so alarmed about what hasn’t happened yet. We need to remember every one of the players JB inherited was brought to the club, or brought through the ranks of the club to play in a League at least one tier above where we are, as such should any player choose to leave or be sold in order to help achieve our return to that level it’s not a disgrace it’s a necessary component of our attempt to re-emerge. It might fail, it might succeed but to hold on to the present because you fear the future is going to stagnate us not evolve us. If we end up with a squad committed to performing to the best of their ability regardless of age or previous experience, proud to represent us in the quarters and demonstrate that to us in the remaining fixtures then if we have to lose one or two of our current heroes to do it then so be it. I remember the time when you kept your quality players like Jarman, Taylor, Prince, David Williams for season after season so that they racked up 300+ appearances, that doesn’t happen now, it they’re good they are gone in 200 games or less, JCH managed 38 that’s not even a season’s worth. Anssi and Alfie have both managed more games than that. So we have to be realistic, they’ll stay if they want to, they’ll go if they want to. We just need to get behind the squad we retain on September 1st fwiw We did have this team, recently (they didn't appear at the same time with these apps, of course) obviously you're not wrong, but your post made me wonder how many apps that team had. Mildenhall 105 Brown 287 Lockyer 255 McChrystal 114 Leadbitter 115 Lines 306 Clarke 235 Sincs 142 Ellis 185 Slinker 118 + another

To be fair to JB I can't see how we can get promoted without a recognised another striker with a reasonable resent scoring record, which is the reason why we were relegated last season.

Lines and Holloway and others went and came back to compile their appearances…we effectively got them on the way up and on the way down again…we could do the same with a couple of others too…a lot of fans suggested Clarke, for example, could come back and may well do so eventually to complete 300 appearances for the gas

We get dicked at Exeter.... JB says "we will win promotion this season". We failed to beat Barrow who had just 10 men for an hour and they were the better side... JB says "we will sign 4 or 5 players".
Think this could all be lip service to Wael and the fans.

A lot probably would have said the same about Chris Lines and look how that ended up.

How is that being fair to him? He's the one who insists on having full control of the recruitment process.
