Just bumped into Clare, Paul's partner and his sister Christine at the ground. Considering the circumstances they were in good spirits, passed on my condolences on behalf of lots of you on here. They are going on the Thatchers terrace, so come on all gasheads let's show what we thought of Greg's on the 44th minute! Didn’t know him personally but sort of felt I did through the forum - the planned applause today actually swayed it for me in deciding to drive down from Leicester for this one. Will be in the Thatchers too.

Sadly I can’t be there today, can’t bring myself to attend at present, I know I’d have been in bits as I still can’t believe it/come to terms with it.
Clare and Christine…. I apologise for not being there, I hope you find some comfort and I will see you on Thursday.
Enjoy your moment up there looking down Gregsy…you deserve it.

I didn’t ever meet Gregsgas personally but that tribute in the 44th minute was spot on and I actually felt proud that I shared a few conversations and jokes with him on here , RIP top man.

I did my best with a video of the tribute tonight. I will try to post it here if I figure out how to do it!

I watched the game from afar but joined the 44th minute applause even if it was just me in the room.

It was a great tribute, and helped to keep his memory alive for so many fans, whether they'd met him or not.
Despite the tragedy of his death, with things like this thread, the tribute, the fundraising and the forthcoming funeral, it helps to make it feel as if he is in some way still here.
It's a difficult stage ahead for his family and friends when all this is over and normal life resumes. Then they just have to get on with things, as you do, no matter how sad it seems.
So it would be nice if we could dedicate some small corner of this forum to Paul as some sort of permanent tribute, as an ex-mod, regular poster, FFFS stalwart and chef almost on a par with Big Jock.

The fundraiser is now at £4425 which is fantastic. It would be really great if we could push on to the 5k mark for our much missed friend. So if you haven’t yet donated, please consider helping Paul’s nearest and dearest at this terrible time. Here’s the link again: Paul Gregory’GregsGas’ Fundraiser

RIP Gregsgas, didn't know you but recall your posts.
You will be sadly missed by all.
The sheer number of posts in this group show the number of lives you touched.
My condolences to the family

Alas I have another function that clashes with the service at Canford. All my love to you both, and hope to meet you one day at a Fans Forum event - UTG Phil xx

Just arrived home from Greg's send off. A celebration of his life with eulogies that told the story of the great bloke that we all knew Paul was. John the Stripe, Hugo the elder, Sean Clevedon gas, Simon gashead 79 and myself were joined by Big Jock who flew in from Glasgow to honour Greg. Very balmy down here the big man said when I remarked about how brave he was to wear his kilt. My apologies if I have omitted anyone else on here who attended. No doubt the celebration of his life is still in full swing at the Henbury Inn. RIP Greg's, it was great to know you, someone I will never forget.

When his kilt rode up his leg I could see why they call him Big Jock too. Even in this weather.
It was a fitting tribute to Gregs. No airs and graces. Genuine people paying their respects and everyone all said just what a nice guy he was.
Knowing Paul he would probably just have shrugged it all off and gone off somewhere to make sure someone was alright.

Unable to attend today as I'm 600 miles away but I logged on to the on-line service coverage.
As Dave has said there were beautiful and emotional eulogies which had me welling up at times.
What a lovely kind man Paul was and it's so very sad he's been taken at such a relatively young age.
Condolences again to Clare, Christine and all of Paul's family and friends.
I will miss you Paul, Goodnight Irene x

Big Jock - Great character! Shame he drunk too much and ate half the buffet!
Picking up the food from the tray he dropped in that kilt is not a sight I want to see again!
