freely admits he sent out a young keeper when he wasn't fit to play. Deflects by saying jed ward was desperate to play but then states he could see ward wasn't moving freely in the warm up. Pizza cup or not, if a previous manager (e.g. Tisdale) did that he'd be getting a lot of stick on here. Sounds 'negligent' to me... How he continually gets away with some of the sh** he says and does here is beyond me.

Exeter only made 2 changes from their previous game according to Joey (it was 10 changes) and we had to drag the 18-year-old right back off the school bus to play tonight apparently 🙄 🤦🏻♂️ I don't know what he was doing on the school bus ...... he is not at school!

Funny how soo many are concerned about this result, when it’s a sh** competition, that nobody watches? Funny how...
When we win a game in this competition (Rovers 2 Cheltenham 0), some people show their delight with the win on that matchday thread saying things like 'that win will give the players confidence' and 'we've turned a corner' etc.
But when we lose a game in this competition (tonight), the same people say things like they 'don't care' and 'it's a pointless competition' and 'we are best out of it' etc.
Funny how...
Some people have a go at fellow Rovers fans when they admit to want Rovers to lose games to get JB sacked, saying things like 'you should want to win every game' and 'you are not a real Rovers fan if you want Rovers to lose'.
But these same people that have a go, they admit themselves that they don't care or are not concerned after Rovers lost this evening.
Personally, I hate this competition but although I hate this competition, I will still listen to the game and discuss it. I wasn't fussed when we beat Cheltenham's kids and I am not fussed we lost to Exeter. I just found tonight disappointing that we didn't learn from the league game when we conceded 4 early goals.
No, all you’ve done, is quoted, everything Barton has said, due to your self obsessed loathing for him? It’s comical 🤣

Am I the only one delighted that we’re rapidly heading out of a joke of a competition which only serves to provide potential injuries to the team, in a competition which serves to serve the premier league masters youth teams in a self serving manner, to serve up new players to serve in the premier league? Until you're one of 40,000 whooping for joy up Wembley Way

JB: Jed Ward was injured but still wanted to play and 4 goal went in on the side that he has issues with so JB regrets starting him and we wouldn't have been 5 down of Belshaw started, This is the only worrying thing tonight.
Pitman went off injured during the warm up at Harrogate I couldn't believe it when he still played him for the first 10 minutes after hurting his hamstring during shooting practice !

When can we start blaming Joey for the youth setup?

So even a 'non-event' like this game (according to many) ends up in a pro/anti JB debate! As for the game, pleased we showed some fight in second half regardless of circumstances. Think the competition is a very good opportunity for a few players to show case there talents ,the emphasis being on 'few'. The longer we are in the competition the more chances they get so to make so many changes is counter productive IMHO.

Making wholesale changes like we did is almost tantamount to throwing the game. Now we will be without further opportunities to throw the likes of Jones into "first team" action for the remainder of the season. Although we can send more players out on loan. I'd like to see Jones given a National League loan or something of that standard, considering he has already proven himself at NL South.

Not quite sure how many changes Exeter made but I know apart from their keeper & the lad Kite ,the rest of their team had hundreds of first team appearances between them & it showed. I am not a JB lover but in all fairness the squad has been decimated by injuries & must have been difficult for him to assemble a competitive team for last night with out putting more of our first team players at risk with 3 important games coming up next week. Even though it was a difficult watch , give the lads credit for even after the disastrous start they kept trying to play football , carved out quite a few chances & with better finishing the halftime score could of looked a lot different.

Not sure If I am right but Didn’t we play most of the second half with a back 4? And 3 at the back in the 2nd? 3 at the back in the1st half* Are you sure we had anyone at the back in the 1st half? UTG!

Irrespective of anyone's thoughts on this competition, these are professional footballers, earning a living through our football club. As such, if anyone thinks being 5-0 down at half-time is acceptable - tin-pot trophy or not - they need to give their head a wobble.

In terms of talent he was correct. Barton attempts to lie but gets found out once again.

Before being converted into a wing back at Weston, he was a goalscoring no.10/attacking midfielder in his days in the Clevedon Town u18s and in his early days at Weston.

Went to the game last night, not only was the first half embarrassing but the Exeter stewarding was bizarre too. They only opened up one stand for the crowd and when the home end filled up the stewards decided to let the home fans fill up the away end! So for the second and third goals we had their lot jumping up and down amongst us. Then ten minutes later they opened up the terrace behind the goal and they all then left.
