You’re mad if you think agents don’t talk to clubs all The time mate. How does everyone know Haaland’s release clause at Dortmund? 🤷🏻♂️ Listen I’m not making excuses for him, he’s a snake but the fact is he won’t be faking an injury to get out of playing at the Mem. I love its when we use elite players to compare, I wonder if anyone knows any release clauses from current league one/two players I’d imagine if we showed Interest in buying one then yes we’d be able to find out quite easily.

The amount needed to trigger the release clause was printed in the Daily Mail days before the 82'ers put their bid in, so other clubs knew what the score was, but none of them put an offer in. View Attachment I have an excellent coffee mug with that picture on it.

The lad has belted Alfie around the chops the last two occasions he has faced Rovers with a crowd. Somehow getting away with it on both occasions. So I’m certainly inclined to believe the taunts get under his skin and he simply cannot handle it.

I also thought that the FA, EFL, or whoever were able to dish out retrospective punishments if evidence of serious misdemeanours were presented to them. I can’t believe that Taylor’s post whistle shenanigans didn’t warrant a second look. If ever the game is going to be settled on skill and not skullduggery then it’s precisely these sort of intentioned assaults that need to be eradicated. Players will only think twice if they know that they won’t be able to get away with it, even after the event.

Why not try a little reverse psychology for 327218?
Chants of "THERE'S ONLY ONE MATTY TAYLOR" and/or "WE LOVE YOU MATTY-WE DO-MATTY WE LOVE YOU" would be certain to confuse him.
Don't have to mean it!!!!

Shame we now bend over for him

Fitness doubts around Matty Taylor now coming to light for the FA cup match! founded or another bottle job! Shame really. Don't get me wrong its hard to stomach what he did and the way certain individuals went about it but its all got out of hand! But i'm not complaining he's looking doubtful for the cup match with a niggly G string! Utter sh**e, he's not scared of playing at the Mem, has done it in the past. He's a pro footballer earning a living, if he wanted to secure a better future for his family by signing a far better paid deal with City, then that's his right just like any of us earning a living. He has spoken highly of the majority of our fanbase since leaving. If he's not there due to "injury" then he's injured. Any Gashead wanting some sort of point scoring retribution by thinking Matty Taylor has somehow been scared off from playing at the Mem is deluded. He served us well at a time we needed it, as did the rest of that squad. Nothing lasts for ever, players come and go. I thank them all for their contribution. We move on. It's time to focus on the latest batch of incumbents somehow reaching the status that squad achieved. Well done, some common sense. UTG!

I think you’ll be disappointed to learn that he was out with his team mates having a meal when he learned of the bid and they all told him he had to go For them it is simply a job Well they can F off too then. “Learned of the bid?” You mean the bid which was exactly the release fee in his contract which was supposed to be confidential? He must have been so surprised at the bid - amazing Jedi mind tricks by the city board. Perhaps they should start guessing the weight of the cake in the raffle because they seem to be great at estimating unknown information, The great thing about all of this at the end of the day is that he didn’t make anything of himself and probably would have been better off staying, or waiting till the end of the season for a club who actually wanted to play him, rather than using him as a ceremonial way to poke us in the eye and then put him on the bench. All agents of all players and clubs will know release fees of any player they are interested in. If they didn’t they’re not doing their jobs. UTG!

It's time to focus on the latest batch of incumbents somehow reaching the status that squad achieved. That sounds like you view football as a mere commercial matter. Did you forget all the circumstances regarding his sale? The context of it? The release fee? The fact it was deliberately left as late as possible in the window to prevent us signing a replacement - purely to get one over on us on behalf of his new employer? Yes, he’s a footballer earning a living. He was a footballer who could have comfortably got a deal probably at plenty of other clubs, and he chose to totally betray everyone who had helped him in his journey, from DC who plucked him out of forest green reserves to the fans who stuck with him despite not scoring for about 12 games. Then, after all that he openly mocks us and tries to wind our fans up, Yes, commercial decision. Defrauding pensioners is a commercial decision - those fraudsters have families to feed too. Hell, Judas had mouths to feed when he picked up those pieces of silver. It’s only football at the end of the day, it’s a game, but Taylor knew full well what he was doing, and chose the money. It wasn’t his one chance, he had years of decent contracts ahead but he chose the one thing which would completely screw all his team mates and supporters - all the little kids who got Taylor shirts and idolised him. He had a right to play for whoever he liked but we have a right to dislike him, and I fully intend to exercise that right. After all, we paid his wages for about 4 years If you’re going to have a go at least try and be accurate. 4 years? More like 2 and a half years (Summer 2014- January ‘17) And thinking it’s the same as fraudsters stealing from pensioners. Need a better sense of perspective. Come on, I’m sure you’re better than that, as you say it’s a game! Btw, what’s your view about Tom L who left, letting his contract run down? UTG!

He'd scored 16 league goals (plus more in cups) the season he went, maybe on target for 25. Should have been more than just City bidding on him if the low release clause was common knowledge. We spent more on Nichols..

Marty Taylor can never be forgiven end of story! Well, he helped get us out of the Conference at the first attempt, he helped us get promotion to League 1. I can forgive that, not that he needs any forgiving. UTG!

The only ones who come out of the whole situation in a cynical dishonourable way are BCFC (1982) Ltd. Taylor did what he did for his family, and most of us would have done the same at the end of a contract, with a big money offer on the table. It's not lovely, but it's life. In a few years he'll be past it and no longer earning big bucks. We had a contract with him, and had to honour it. We did what had to be done. The Franchise chose to exploit a weakness purely for the purpose of f*cking us over, with no real intention of ever using him as a first team regular. Disgraceful. I didn't ever really think the Rosy-Cheeked one actually cared about us much, but that episode showed he did, and was mightily worried about the possibility of us getting into the Championship. If we had, questions might have been asked about the point of him actually propping the club up. Exactly. Players do what players do, follow the money. The other lot on the other hand... UTG!

I’ve no idea but I suspect that 1982 bid at the minimum as per contract but would have out-bid anyone else who came in. It would only been fairly minimal to do that. They would have done that to bu**** us up. No one else came in so he went to them. And bu****** us up completely. Fortunately we had Luke James to step into his shoes!! 😭😭😭 UTG!
