Makes me laugh that we got him for nothing he scored loads of goals and was our best striker in our back to back seasons yet the majority of our supporters hate him and many even sing vile songs about him being dead.
Also makes me laugh that the 82ers paid him nearly two million quid over two years he scored seven goals in that time , was generally either injured or recovering from injury , mostly poor , didn’t really get going and the Sh1!heads sing jubilant songs about him like he was their best player ever.
Only in football.
For what it’s worth when any of the Sh1!heads I know pipe up about him I tell them what I’ve written above and it soon shuts them up.
The majority of Gasheads unfortunately seem unable to rise above it and come across quite bitter which obviously plays in to their hands.
For Taylor it is a job he’s not from Bristol and he had a chance to quadruple his earnings for a couple of years. Simple as that as far as I’m concerned..
Clearly Lansdowns/ City’s part in it was typical of the kind of financial dark arts that we could expect from a multi billionaire football club owner who’d made his money in finance added to that that he’s always lived in fear that the Rovers would catch them or even overtake them after his “ in five years time nobody will be talking about Bristol Rovers” comment over five years before it came as no surprise to me at all when the news came through on that transfer deadline day.

Correct he is from Oxford and still thought nothing of going back on a handshake with Appleton then poking fun after scoring against them that season. Strikes me as quite machiavellian. Anyone calling themself 'Matty' is a bit of a wrong-un imo

So, going back to the op, looks like Taylor didn't bottle it after all...should I have typed that with the caps lock on?

I enjoyed the Taylor v Taylor battle tonight. I thought Connor did really well at keeping Matty reasonably quiet 👏

Is everyone on here still working at the same job that they were when they were 16/18/21 when they started employment? Is everyone married to the first person they missed? If the answer is no, I guess either they were not loyal/ had better offers or someone else was not loyal to them. It's life - get over it. Most players don't care that much. It is just a job. If Belly, Evans, Thomas or Nicholson were offered a 2 year contract at Ashton Gate to triple their wages, dont you think they would go? Of course they would. I’m still in the same job as I was when I was 16 ( I’m now 38 ) and I’m also with my Mrs who I’ve been with since the age of 15. I get what you’re saying though 100%

Why, oh why, did we have to sing that ridiculous song about having a party when Taylor dies? I'm, more than happy with the constant booing and s**thead chants but that was totally unnecessary and we can really do without that sort of song. (when I say "we" I do not include "me"!
