It’s interesting many believe it was definitely Mrs Barton herself who called the authorities to the property, on the night in question. All the while, it’s almost completely forgotten how quickly & abruptly Clint Hill left the football club….if you recall. Clint wasn’t there, the prosecutor said in the summer that Mrs Barton had called the police and asked for him to be removed from the property

All the while, it’s almost completely forgotten how quickly & abruptly Clint Hill left the football club….if you recall. news.sky.com/story/joey-barton-pleads-not-guilty-to-assault-by-beating-after-woman-suffered-head-injury-12364407"Bristol Rovers manager Joey Barton has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his wife. The Bristol Rovers manager is charged with assaulting Georgia Barton by beating at a home in Kew, London, on 2 June. On Monday morning, the former Premier League footballer appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court in southwest London via video link. The court heard that Barton, 38, of Widnes, Cheshire, allegedly grabbed his wife by the throat and kicked her in the head, causing a head injury, during an altercation outside the property, where they had been with two friends. She then called the police and asked for her husband to be removed from the property. Mrs Barton was also left with a bloody nose following the incident, the court heard." Barton was charged on Sunday after being arrested on 2 June and bailed pending further inquiries.

Can see this being dropped. Nothing more than a gut feeling. They had a preliminary hearing a few weeks ago (?). With a lack of witnesses and his wife refusing to testify against him suggests to me that the prosecution are struggling to mount a provable case of alleged beating. The police apparently have bodycam images but what does that prove - possibly nothing in a court of law - again, like everything else on this forum just pure speculation. I suppose it all depends on if his wife made a statement that night which was recorded. If it was then I believe it can be used.

Is that a guess or do you know that as a fact.

I'm a Barton supporter and stand by him unless hes proved guilty. I have to say that the way the CPS operates doesnt feel me with any confidence. How the Stendel case made it to court is a mystery and I get a feel that this will also be the case.
If Mrs B doesnt engage perhaps the angle will be coercive control which is high profile at the moment, this leads me to think are they just after a "celebrity" or a news story?
Any claim in relation to her testimony will be be discredited by the fact he has no previous against her, alcohol, and unclear/subjective witness statements. Looking at Katie Price recently i'm unsure what you need to do to get sentenced.
If he's not guilty i'll be happy to have him as our manager as im convinced he's on the verge of doing real good things with this team

Perhaps it Is time we forgot about the case, binned the thread and just got on with very important issues In life such as football.

Worst outcome possible for the club, another 3 months of this hanging over us. not sure that i agree. The worst possible outcome to BRFC is that he was found guilty and we lose our manager just at a time when our form is improving. Not sure why you think that the club is affected because the manager has a court case hanging over him. To be fair he didnt miss a match during the high court case and he doesnt show signs of being distracted

It’s better than it was beCause it was really bad and now it’s not quite so bad.

In the first 10 league games we earned 10 points ( 1 PPG) and in the second 10 league games we earned 13 points ( 1.3 PPG). The stats don't lie. We may even get 16 points in our next 10 league games and maybe 19 after that. 58 points with 6 games to go? The lowest points total to qualify for the playoffs in League Two was apparently only 66 ( Lincoln in 2005/6). Joey was right... we ARE going up after all!!!

Joey was right... we ARE going up after all!!! i think that maybe that is where we are different because i dont care for statistics - i just want to go to a match and enjoy watching the Gas. For what seems like an age i have been going because that is what i do although it was not really a pleasurable experience. Recently however i have started to see some exciting games and the atmosphere is returning to the mem. I see players with skill on the ball , i am hopeful when Anthony Evans steps up for a free kick - as i believe that he is the best dead ball player that we have had in years . i could go on about Nicholson and Finlay and Lewis finding his goal scoring form at last but that would be boring - besides which you get your high on statistics. Did you know that 79.63458% of all statistics are made up- including that one. So i stand by what i say that for the first time in about 3 years i am actually looking forward to games and i know that the people near me are the same. i believe that we are on the cusp of becoming a good team - when we learn how to defend - and it would be a shame if something - anything - disrupted that . Anyway- back to statistics .......

I think it's actually the best team we've had in years.
It's about more than stats. GC had great stats but an awful team,
