Ah, to some extent it was "look over there!" comment.

If JB and his wife are now happily married and nothing like the accusation occurs again then I can probably understand your position.

However, as a society we do need to look out for our vulnerable. That can be a man or a woman. An aunt was only telling me the other day about how her daughter stabbed her previous husband, only for the previous husband to think he deserved it and it had been his fault for making a mistake that made his wife angry.

Like my cousins husband, when that happens then the person it is happening to sort of normalises it. They have had so long of being told that it is their fault that they start to believe it. It is only when other people witness this behaviour, that they can help that person.

This is the reason why the JB case wasn't completed only stayed.

Prince Andrew was a bit different, he was accused of sex with an under age person. I am in agreement that he should have faced justice for this. If I remember, it was in the USA and played out in civil court where the burden of proof is less (not an expert of the difference between a criminal trial and a civil trial in the US). He then paid the victim off.

It is a shame that the US authorities didn't think that they could get a conviction from a criminal court.

What we do need to remember though, is that just because there has been an 'error in justice' in one example two wrongsdon't make a right. If anything it should mean that the courts should be learning and not make those mistakes again.
 

Never heard of "hand wringing" before.

I'd imagine the CPS have got their top brief(s) dealing with this case, so probably two big guns dealing with it. JB seems to be having a good attempt at transferring all the money he's earned in football to the legal profession.

I've asked myself, and come to the conclusion that one is a law breaker and member of the Royal Family who will never ever be prosecuted for anything, and the other is a law breaker who isn't a member of said family who can and should face trial if the evidence suggests he might be guilty.

It's a corrupt system, but in relation to Prince Randy, not Barton.
