Belshaw 8 excellent time wasting and sweeping up
Hoole 8 some lovely tika-taka style passing to get out of tricky situations Taylor 9 a colossus Connolly 9 hardly put a foot wrong Grant 6.5 was better when moved into midfield. Seemed a little lax
Coutts 9.5 impeccable. The player we’ve been calling out for for the past 5 seasons
H. Anderson 6 not his day Finley 7.5 he never stopped Evans 7.5 better defensively than he was in possession of the ball E. Anderson 7.5 cracking finish. Less involved than usual
Collins 6.5 didn’t get any change out of some big defenders
Subs: Anderton 7 did exactly what was asked of him Loft 8.5 put himself about. Cracking finish for a man probably lacking confidence Whelan nole
Ref 5 had no help from his linesmen Port Vale 6 you could see they were a good team but they didn’t test Belly

Belshaw 8
Hoole 9 Taylor 8 Connolly 9 Absolute rock today didn’t put a foot wrong and got a goal. Grant 7
Coutts 10 absolutely everywhere and controlled the game with ease
H. Anderson 7 Finley 8 Evans 7 E. Anderson 8 another superb finish, what a player
Collins 6
Subs: Anderton 7 Loft 8 Excellent finish under pressure Whelan NOLE
Ref 5 Port Vale 5 Really underwhelming. Constantly in the refs ear begging for cards. Pinched Billy on the arm hoping to provoke a reaction. Vile side just as they were at our place.

Belshaw 7.5 alert and great with his feet. Did very well to make the chance as difficult as it could be when their player was through. One day his slightly kamikaze approach won’t come off but at the moment it certainly is doing so.
Hoole 7 does the simple things well, good speed and I fancy there’s more to come from him in an attacking sense as he gains experience Taylor 9 after a shaky start he was immense, making numerous extremely important blocks and headers. Connolly 9 calm and impressive. I like the way he is bringing the ball out more now and of course that vital goal! Grant 7 uncharacteristically sloppy on a few occasions early on but showed composure on the ball as the game went on.
Coutts 9.5 masterful midfield performance. Really made us tick today and great through ball for the first goal.
H. Anderson 7.5 tireless running for the team. Finley 8.5 excellent combative performance and just about kept his cool! Evans 9 great assist for the second goal but most impressive is how he has added bite to his game throughout the season. He has really grown as an all round midfielder, I’m sure with help from Barton, Whelan and Coutts. You could see how pumped up he was throughout. E. Anderson 8 relatively quiet at times but always a latent threat. He did what Elliot Anderson does with that vital equaliser. What a cool head he has.
Collins 7 not quite happening for him but like Harry Anderson, he ran himself into the ground for the team.
Subs: Anderton nole Loft nole but so happy for him - great finish! Whelan nole
Ref 5 was close to losing control of this game but just about got away with it! Port Vale 6 good side but we were clearly better and have no one to fear in the play offs.

Belshaw 7.5 dependable, no real save to make but was there high up to act as sweep, plus put off strike off target.
Hoole 8.5 mature beyond his years. Taylor 8.5 brilliant at keeping them at bay. Connolly 9 back on form and was there when it mattered. Grant 6 as left back, switched to other side and appeared more effective.
Coutts 9.5 m o m captain composure, inch perfect weighted assist to get us scoring and added the calm influence that's so important to a young team.
H. Anderson 7.5 absolutely ran his socks off, not all his ideas worked. Finley 6 foolishly booked, gave ball away at times and I thought has been off his usual high standard form last couple of matches. Evans 6.5 was involved but rightly subbed. E. Anderson 8.5 looked constant threat, usual wizardry capped with a brilliant ruthless strike to get us going. Fundamental in attack, glad he's ours for next 3(+) matches...
Collins 6 worked hard, not much worked for him, not his day.
Subs: Anderton 7.5 added balance. We've missed him. Loft 8 looked a physical presence pest to their defence, his goal was well finished largely because of his brilliant first touch to draw keeper....nice celebration with us. Great to see him get up and running - in front of us too! Whelan n o l e.
Ref 1 f ing awful. Inconsistent. Appeared fussy at our expense, two hack down on us weren't booked, yet book two Gas players for kicking ball away. It had to be about him didn't it? No surprise the same ref in corresponding home match.... Port Vale 7 tough opponents that were hampered by 3 injuries to key players....but then no LC, TC, AK you might say similar about us. We dented their confidence, at times outplayed them even with our shimmies, flicks and back heels, we are force to be reckoned with and should fear no one.
First of all, respect to DC and thoughts always for him.
But we are playing some very easy on eye football, and can genuinely be considered promotion rivals to the top 4/5....well done jab for orchestration of a squad that care and play with passion and belief, and above all can compete with this divisions best.
Special mention to travelling support and the noise created....much like Friday, we sang mostly throughout the game. Great times to be a GasHead.....3 important cup finals left, let's see what we can do?

Belshaw safe under high ball and sweeper supreme 8
Hoole great defender and some nice short interchange passes 8 Taylor top performance 8.5 Connolly footballing centrehalf can't ask for more 9 Grant occasionally caught out of position nonetheless battled hard and worth his starting place 8
Coutts best performance of season almost perfect 9.5
H. Anderson battled hard bit nothing really came off today but battled hard 7 Finley alongside Coutts with great effect 8.5 Evans still a little rusty but worked hard and adds composure and quality to our midfield 8 E. Anderson fantastic goal battled hard with touches of class 8.5
Collins needs a goal closes down ok but the ball doesn't stick with him to bring midfield throigh 6.5
Subs: Anderton solid 7 Loft cracking goal 8.5 Whelan nole
Ref 5 Port Vale not the top three team we were expecting5

Belshaw 7.5 - competent
Hoole 7 - steady performance Taylor 7.5 - uncertain start but then his usual impressive self. Connolly 8.5 - gets better each week. I think that he is as better than Tom Lockyer who is playing at the top of the Championship Grant 6.5 - sloppy at times but lots of good things
Coutts 9 - almost perfect performance as a defensive midfielder and captain
H. Anderson 6.5 - worked hard as usual Finley 7.5 - good display but another booking. If he gets booked in each of the next three games will he hit the fifteen limit and get a three match ban and miss the play-offs? Evans 7 - good moments but not at his best E. Anderson 7.5 - has been more effective in the final third but a goal a game is worth its weight in gold
Collins 6 - worked hard but outmuscled too often. Is not currently producing the couple of magic moments a game which make a difference.
Subs: Anderton 7 - solid Loft 7 - won balls which Collins didn't and a good finish for his goal Whelan nole
Ref 5 Port Vale 6

Belshaw 8 - Don’t remember a save he had to make but swept up and collected crosses brilliantly.
Hoole 8.5 - Lad gets better and better. Taylor 8 - Monster. Connolly 8.5 - Monster + a goal. Grant 6.5 - Not at his best but some good defensive moments.
Coutts 9 - The metronome.
H. Anderson 8.5 - Tremendous work rate and a superb player. Finley 8.5 - Can do everything. Evans 7.5 - Not at his best but got stuck in and an assist to boot. E. Anderson 8 - Brilliant goal.
Collins 6.5 - Not in form but never stops running.
Subs: Anderton 7 - Solidified us down the left. Loft 8 - Can’t ask for a better impact than that. Whelan 7 - Nouse.
Ref 5 - Nause. Port Vale 6 - Can see they’re a dangerous outfit but beaten by the better side on the day.
