Yesterday I received a surprise parcel, turned out to be sent by Pete from the club shop. I'm guessing that somebody must have tipped him off regarding my illness (I have a few suspects in mind!), unless he picked it up from social media, anyway, it was a lovely gesture and brought a tear to my eye. We have a club, and fans, to be proud of. Attachment DeletedI've been to the hospital today, the PET scan showed that the cancer has not spread anywhere else, it is contained in the uterus and lymph nodes. The Pathologist had re-visited the biopsy and was able to clarify that it is a slow growing cancer, not an aggressive type as first though. Good news all round! Providing Southmead give the go ahead next week, with regards to my kidneys holding up, I will be having my operation on 30th May. I'll be having radiotherapy about 8 weeks after the op, to kill off any stragglers, and, maybe some chemo if I'm strong enough. I'm aiming to be pre-season ready for Melksham on 1 July.  Huge thanks to everybody for your support - it means more than you can ever know. Please don't feel you have to respond to this post, we have more exciting and uplifting things to discuss on here! Checking into the RUH in Bath at 7 a.m. tomorrow for my operation.
Thank you to everybody for all the good wishes - apparently I'll be in Intensive Care for a few days, so I'll catch you all later in the week.
