I made it through! The epidural didn’t work, so lots of post op pain, no sickness though, and I’ve been able to eat The level of care is phenomenal. 😱🤗 I haven’t read any posts, just a quick check in - you all take care. Good to hear Tilly, keep strong

Sorry to hear the epidural didn't work but no sickness is a result and glad you're getting the care you deserve. Rest up and take it easy. Hopefully you'll be out ASAP and back here posting xx

Remember the sickness you have is nowhere near as strong as you Mary.
If knowing others care helps speed the healing process , you should be well on the road to recovery x

Thank you to everybody for the lovely posts, and good wishes. Finally got home last night. The op went well, the cancer hasn't spread to any other organs, need to have radiotherapy to kill off any remaining cells. Unfortunately, I have an incurable form of cancer, so it will keep returning, the amount of radiotherapy I can have is restricted by the condition of my heart and kidneys, so the reality is that one day it will win. Just need to re-group, accept that I can't fight it, work out how to live the best life possible, and hope that it doesn't rear it's ugly head again too soon. I've paid for a season ticket FFS - got to get my money's worth! As for the keys to the Pharmacy Big Jock - they wouldn't be much use! Waited 4 hours before discharge for my meds to be delivered to the wards, only for one of the prescribed items to be out of stock. The ward had none in stock, so the poor sister literally visited other wards on foot to beg for some, so that I could go home. I feel so sorry for the staff, who are overstretched, and go above and beyond to provide the best care they can.
