Money being piled on I would suggest because of Edwards going to Watford. I honestly feel Joey will remain loyal with Wael and stay with us and give it a bloody good go next season. Hope your right Bideford ! 💙

Manager just promoted to L1 favourite for a team not even relegated out of the prem yet. Seems like a ginormous jump for me. I wouldn’t put money on that.

The only thing I would say is Joey is not just any lower league manager, he is a big name who already has a good affiliation with Burnley and if those behind the scenes trust and believe in him then they maybe think he's worth a punt.

Agreed. Hopefully Wael and Tom have a back up plan and a few candidates in mind should Joey leave. Would he get the same autonomy at Burnley though? Hopefully not !

Has anyone noticed the date on top 30th June Presumably that’s when the bet will expire if no permanent manager is appointed by then. As they might well keep the caretaker/interim manager on until the end of the season ?

Bookies probably covering their arses. But no smoke without fire, still can’t see it. I would image he is waiting for exactly what he wants.
Can not see him jumping for financial reward, rather I guess than looking after his managerial reputation.

Not for the best part of £70k a week, being able to sleep in your own bed every night and with his wife expecting another child in a couple of months - I’d be very disappointed but who could blame him?

Honestly never thought I'd say this, but I'd be gutted.

I don't know how much I would read into these odds, I feel like next manager odds are like a snowball effect, someone chucks a tenner on a manager with good odds as a punt which drops the odds down and then people see the dropped odds and think maybe someone knows something then more bets, lower odds, more bets; you get the idea.
If it wasn't for Joey's outstanding court case, especially given the severity of it, I would say this is a likely thing to happen with his links to the club, but I can't see Burnley getting him in for the last few games, while they are doing well under the interim boss, only to have to sack him in a month if he's found guilty. I can't see it but maybe Burnley fancy a bit of controversy.

Couldn't blame him in any way for taking that job if offered - financial, career progression, locality, club affiliation etc.
That said, I'd be gutted and the worst part is I genuinely have absolutely no idea who we could get in to replace him.

He still has a lot to prove at our level yet, so I would be surprised if a premier league club came in for him, especially when he still has a court case hanging over him. Our fans going ott as we got promoted. Expect Burnley will wait until the end of the season, before appointing anyone.

Blimey seeing this is a bit of a shock esp coming on the news of the FGR manager leaving.
Bookies aren’t often too wrong but...Burnley will not be making any decision until the PL season is over. If they stay up then I’d be surprised. No PL club is going to take a risk on a manager facing the charge he’s facing. The jump from League 2 to PL is huge and I’d be surprised if he had the opportunity to go there. But if they go down the gap has closed by two leagues and could be seen as a normal step up. Whatever, when you think that Mike Jackson was a disaster as a manager for Tranmere but has done ok for Burnley as a caretaker you realise that JB would probably be ok.
I think he’s based in the NW so why wouldn’t he go if he got the chance? He will be aware of DC turning down Leeds only to see our progress not kick on and DC sacked/mutually leave in ‘18, just over two years later.
Wael take note, words will not be enough to show a commitment to improve, actions are needed.
It might be a long wait to find out after the season is finished.
UTG!
