Remember the last day of the season at Twerton when WBA were relegated and the ceiling in the visitors dressing room collapsed. When we returned to Bristol-was it Stockport?- the Mem wasn't quite ready and we played our first match of the season still at Twerton. I think it was Posh we played at Twerton 17th August 96 and Stockport was the first game at the Mem 31st August

I was definitely at the first game at the Mem though. Rumours of the goals being too high.. and both goals went above the keeper IIRC. Our scorer was Lee Archer?

Barry Fry was Posh manager.I reffed at Twerton one Xmas in the Conference and Barry Fry was the visiting manager. Not sure but think it was Barnet. I refused to give his side a pen and as we walked off at HT a member of their staff threatened me.I reported him and he gave me his name as 'F ...... Basil Brush'.I sent the report in and the club were instructed by the FA to send me a photo of all the club staff so I could ID the offender which I did - the trainer.Anyway,Barry Fry phoned me at work to see if I'd picked him out and when I answered the phone saying .'Stafford Police Station 'he was gob smacked but very amiable after the initial shock!!

Saw my first live game of football there. Stood behind the Bristol goal with my Dad and Grandfather, there was just a bank of earth to stand on in those days. Me too tilly, must have been about 1970,crowds of two thousand were common then, and both the York brothers were kids, happy days Mr Latham from the 2nd hand shop with a wooden leg!

[breas] It was Sunderland players who damaged the dressing room and ceiling after their 3 1 defeat night Kenny Hibbitt had his leg broken by a Sunderland player

I think we’ll be playing 4 at the back with Gibbons starting left back.

Is there something I'm missing and we have a new signing?
I know Anderson is highly rated but I didn't know he could be in 2 places at once. Austria and Bath wow.
