JBs 6/7 is now already down to 5 …. According to his post match interview on Radio Bristol… Seriously starting to lose confidence in who / what is coming through the door… will only take one good one though and I will be back on Cloud Nine. Don't lose confidence. This time last year Anthony Evans hadn't signed, and Connoly and the Geordie genius didn't arrive until January. Surely Joey has earnt our trust over his recruitment. I'm certain he'll bring quality in again, whether it's the 6 he claimed he wants by the end of August, or if he just brings 4 in by the end of this window and then 2 in the new year. We'll be fine.

Game of opinions - funny how we see things differently. I thought theirs was a penalty and ours wasn't. No complaints about the result, Pompey the better team over the 90+ mins and deserved the win. Unfortunately for you, your opinion is wrong.

That’s going to put me in a bad mood for the rest of the weekend. So unfair. This is why the covid break actually did me good as i no longer have a ruined weekend because of the result, i used to be terrible. Correct mate,it certainly put football in perspective, certainly not life or death now to me.

Just seen a side on video clip showing the Collins penalty shout & that was a blatant push in his back in the penalty area. Maybe Portsmouth did deserve to win, but not to be given a penalty from that incident was ludicrous & may have altered the course & outcome of the game.

Would of been great to have him back again, but I suppose we've done our job in helping him progress to now starting in The Championship. The loans of him and the Geordie Genius will hopefully be a good advertisement for us and other clubs will have no hesitation sending prospects to us in future.

I hope they get the full rocket from our back room staff on their way out the door. Not so much JB of course, can’t afford 3 games out for him.

Sorry everyone. Just heading home. Pleasing 2nd half. Could have been different. Rossiter and Gibson should probably have stayed on, but we aren’t a million miles off. Win at home next week needed. Who’s on match day thread duty?

Wife started chatting about garden lighting and all I heard was Fleetwood … Our man certainly has spirit … love him for that.

Who’s on match day thread duty? It’s a home banker so GGMI will be all over it at least 3 days before!

Who’s on match day thread duty? JB said post match that they are worried about burn out later in the season and also picking up injuries late on today if they'd stay on.

Gavin Ward the referee a regular in the Championship and league one. Seen him referee loads of games in the Championship on Sky and today was a normal performance for him and yet he still continues to be given games by the powers that be.

In the Pompey Bar after the game. Their fans were all saying our penalty claim was a stone-waller.

Just got back and haven’t read the thread but FWIW: We were better in the second half and our first half was better tha Barnsley so we are improving. I understand why Harry A was rested but he was missed and our full backs provided little threat attacking wise though they did alright defensively. Playing Coutts, Whelan, Rossiter and Finley meant that we were more solid and kept Pompey at a distance but Evans has still to click. Collin sure was good in the second half and stretched Pompey defenders all the time. Marquis never stopped running but apart from the assist nothing stuck to him and our midfield was always under pressure. Connolly played well but I thought Gibson, although he did nothing wrong he was caught in possession a lot of the time and was out-muscled by some of their players. I hope he will learn. I think you have to give credit to Pompey, they played well, were always looking to attack and deserved the win.
I don’t know what’s been said about our pen that wasn’t given but I was sat in the front row of the North Stand (the side where Collins was brought down) and sat level with the 18 yard line. I think I was probably as close as anyone was to that incident. It was a clear penalty. Collins has beaten the defender and he just took his leg. A clear penalty and the referee should have given it although I can’t remember where he was, behind or unsighted. Had the Lino been on my side I’m sure he would have flagged for it. Hard to take esp as they then go up the other end and get a pen. I’ll look forward to hearing JBs post match views, I can guess already what he’ll say!!
Plus points were that we really competed and Pompey knew they were in a match, the team were really up for it. Finley again the MOM for me but blimey he does play on the edge and I was worried he was talking himself into a red when our pen wasn’t given. A much better performance after Barnsley and we were really in with a chance I thought until their pen. Connolly played well. But I’m not sure we’re getting a fair crack from referees and I’m afraid their dislike of JB is colouring their decisions against us. We got few, if any, 50/50 decisions and being so close to the pen I was amazed that such a vital decision went against us. He wasn’t poor as a ref but he got an important decision wrong.

In the Pompey Bar after the game. Their fans were all saying our penalty claim was a stone-waller. Watch the replay of the penalty incident. You can clearly see the Rovers player's left leg deliberately kick into Rafferty's, Robert Pires style. That's why the ref didn't give it. As regards the alleged push there's nothing in it. Certainly not enough to make him fall over.
