As another poster said on the other thread, fairly sure they aren’t the actual badge proposals. More like, do you want something related to A, B or C etc… Exactly. The club is merely engaging with its fan base. That’s good to see. 👍🏾 Surely everyone picked B ?

As long as the mincing pirate (where is Baggins?) is replaced with something grown up, bargain. 🏴☠️

Unpopular opinion , I don’t really like the current badge, never have. I’m open to changing it , hopefully we get a Bristol coat of arms.

As another poster commented, lots of other things need sorting, for goodness sake you can't take a dump or a pee at half time in the new loos by County contractors terrace as they keep running out of water, just a joke in this day and age, for what it's worth I think our badge is unique and I would like to keep it.

You'd think, seen as it was only 52% of fans would consider a change, that they'd put a lot more effort into those 3 they've sent out to try and win over and bring the other 48% into the conversation. They've completely shut this down imo, and I was one of the 52% interested at least in exploring alternatives.
I understand that they don't wanna spend too much money before delving into this fully but those three mockups are laughable, it's embarrassing!
How can a "professional" football club release mockups like that? It looks as if they have just downloaded pre-made imagery off of Vecteezy.com.

My profile pic on the left: An attempt at "modernizing" without completely throwing out what we already have. Taking into account the things that seem to be bothering the club - the sword is kept within the circle, the fonts updated. Removing all yellow to keep it blue, white and black.
No need to reinvent the wheel, or try and turn us into an American football team. The pirate is good for branding, just tidy up what we already have imo.

Comparing yours to the old shown in Oldtotenders profile pic above then I've got to say it looks far better.

Never realised it was so vital to have a symmetrical design with no elements extending beyond the circle.
Presumably other clubs in an age of digital scanning would have no issue with reproducing anything, but from reading some of the replies on here we are employing artisan craftsmen with quill pens, so it has to be kept simple.

I like the skull and cross bones design at the quarters with my name on it. Waiting for my invite to play where’s Wally.

I suspect the club want to change the badge and are fishing. Look at how media and marketing have grown in recent seasons, there's been a big drive and you have to acknowledge that it's very professional.
Marketing and image will significantly involve the badge
So if suspicions are correct, what image are they trying to steer us towards? Do they want a more simple easy to reproduce logo that goes out on everything? Is the current badge to complicated for the media team's liking?
I may be wrong, but can't help being suspicious that there is something else going on here, otherwise why even raise it in the first place?

I’d like to see 2 or 3 options and a vote, to include the option or keeping what we have and/or a tidied up, more media/design friendly version like ChiefStateGas has suggested, plus a skull and crossbones or cross swords option (but obviously much more sophisticated and better designed than the survey version).
However, I suspect Tom and Wael have already made up their minds that a change is needed so keeping what we have probably won’t be an option. As CEO and owner, that’s their prerogative and I’m fine with that as it’s not as if they’re changing the kit to red or our club name to United. I remember being around for the last badge change and don’t recall it being a massively big deal.
Anyway, I think they were going to do further work with focus groups so it will be interesting what comes out of these.

Please get some professional design input.
Surely we won’t carry out a redesign by a group of amateurs with no relevant experience?

I would be happy with a change of badge (not really struck on the Pirate part of it) but the new options are very poor. The crossed swords is the only vaguely acceptable one...correction... the least unacceptable one. The others (since when were known as the Highwaymen?) are truly awful. I would love to have the word 'Gas' incorporated in the badge somewhere but if all they can come up with is the three on offer then it's a no brainer to keep the existing one.
