They could well go down. Lansdown won't do whatever it takes to keep them up any more after years of failure, and seems to have lost interest in pumping money into City. He now seems more concerned with the stadium, which is his baby, and building up a sporting empire in the area.

You know what’s going to happen.
Bottom 3 and we will be in the playoff pack at Xmas.
Steve Lansdown will break the bank to tempt as many of our best players away.
Their fans will start threatening our players and trying to burn our ground down again.
They are the closest thing to terrorists in football terms and they will not take a little thing like the potential to be lower in the league to us without some kind of anti social w**ker behaviour.
Remember in the 80s and 90s when we committed the grievous act of beating them a few times and they started phoning and threatening Holloway at his home address, chased our players off the pitch for equalising etc?
Bristol’s family club still have plenty of these coked up Bemmie knobs and they are just waiting to kick off, like they always did before.
Hopefully this time the authorities will actually do something rather than just dust their hands down and walk away like they did back then.

Yes to both unfortunately; at first I applauded those gasheads thinking it was some kind of care in the community project but its been going on far too long now...

Not to mention the owners who have an incredible telepathic skill of guessing the release fee…. …if all you get are 4 pages on a forum and a few “belters” then FFS grow a pair, at least we aren’t doing any of the above.

He says he's not rattled but brings a post up from about 5 years ago (sunnier days when they were on their way to getting TO Europe 🤣) and then has to keep saying on their he's not rattled. At least his user name is appropriate. 🤣😁

As others have said the Championship is playing out a bit different this season at both ends of the table. No team is looking like getting away at the top and at the bottom you don't have the usual couple teams cut adrift with points deductions, yet! So far City have managed to come up with a 'result' to just keep them out of trouble and their season is very much in the balance, like it or not they do have some talented young players but, in the position, they find themselves in they need, fight, determination and togetherness which according to reports is lacking. To be honest when you listen to the manager that's not surprising, no passion, and he talks as if he has no belief either, i don't think we will be swapping leagues this season but there is a real possibility of a City relegation, hope so!

On paper Nigel Pearson seemed a solid appointment but it shows you it's not about good or bad managers as such even, it's getting managers at the right time. John Ward when he came back was not quite the same as before. McGhee on his way down etc. I def think when I think back to our history we have always done better with a younger manager who is on the way up. Nigel Pearson doesn't need the money or have anything to prove as such I guess really. And like you say it is really evident how lacking in passion he is. In some ways he reminds me a lot of Sean O'Driscoll albeit to a lesser extent result wise (successful previous to joining the sh** but a failure with them and seeming lacking in passion and unmotivated). In their position, who would you realistically say was a good target if they were to sack him? Schumacher and his back team staff seem to be doing well at Plymouth? I guess Ryan Lowe probably built some of that up when he was there too though(now at Preston) Ironically for City they have probably done better with a manager with more experience. Gary Johnson, Steve Cotterill etc. Lee Johnson probably got too hard a time at City, their fans seem to have delusions of grandeur and that they are an oven baked prem team, this gives them unrealistic expectations as they are viewed very differently by the rest of the footballing family/world.

Remind me - how big is the Bristol Rovers dustbin thread over on your forum?

I’m not sure it’s the managers they’re appointing that’s the problem. Think there’s something wrong with the club. An air of entitlement perhaps? They’re a bit like Peterborough in this league or one of the big boys who get relegated down to L1 and L2 and suddenly think they can just smash it because they’ve flashed the cash.
