Brilliant Rovers staying at the MEM. Second verse same as the first, knock the East Stand down and build a massive stand back into the existing car park, third verse knock down the Blackthorn and build a spion cop, and on we go. UTG What is a spion policeman? en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spion_Kop_(stadiums)

It was supposed to be the Fruit Market, but that’s dead now. Keep up 😉 I think you're the one who needs to keep up Why, what did I miss? The temporary stand was supposed to be just that till we moved to the FM. That’s been binned and we’re now staying at The Mem. No other site has been mentioned. I really don’t get your point.

No concrete, bolted together steelwork and all that?

No concrete, bolted together steelwork and all that? The steel hides the temporary bit. From the Thatchers it looks like a well built stand and you wouldn't be able to tell it was temporary from that distance. However, when you are in it I would expectvthe temporary nature to be obvious with wooden floors and the concorse will feel strange when compared to a permanent concourse covered in concrete.

Anybody interested, there is a video out by mister drone of the new temporary stand at Wrexham. Sorry I don’t know how to post the link, no doubt someone on here can do that. 2200 seats and no roof.

I would have expected the millions it cost to have been put towards securing a new stadium at the FM and/or the team to get promoted so that we were in the championship by the time the FM was built. The new stand seemed a rush job when it looked like the FM wouldn't be going ahead, so fans wouldn't be too disappointed. Regardless, what matters is that it's a big improvement on what was there previously. I would expect it to be there for many years as money will be better spent in other areas rather than the cost of replacing it.

I think Eric knows, referring to the spelling of cop/kop. Hahaha, originates from the Boer War, and given to the Walton Breck Road stand.

Rovers conceived between the First and Second Boer Wars so seems appropriate?

When you see how much space they've left behind that stand it makes it even more impressive what Rovers achieved with the limited amount of land we had. Looks tinpot in comparison!

The space behind the old Kop terracing at Wrexham is significantly larger as was the terracing itself ,combined, much bigger than at the Mem.
