I’m sure I’ve read that the Welsh government are paying for the new stand. ...bit more complicated than that as far as I can tell. The local council got a grant from the Welsh Government to fund certain things - and they had plans to spend it elsewhere but then changed it when Wrexham got bought by Hollywood stars/ became the focus of a global TV show/started winning games...

I wonder if Wrexham will have a section for 'international fans'

Anybody interested, there is a video out by mister drone of the new temporary stand at Wrexham. Sorry I don’t know how to post the link, no doubt someone on here can do that. 2200 seats and no roof. What's the betting that's in full use whilst we're still waiting for the test events to take place?

What's the betting that's in full use whilst we're still waiting for the test events to take place? The Wrexham planning portal suggests application was on 8th November and they are hoping to see the stand in action for Saturday 23rd Dec.
The initial application contains much less detail than Rovers original (withdrawn) submission and although comments are not made public, there is seemingly no local opposition, no Wrexham Tree Forum, noone complaining about their property prices AND financial support from the council and Welsh govt for this and the permanent development.
How the other half live!

Not sure we can still blame planning issues for the stand not being in use for the two home festive games, which would have probably been sell outs even with the new stands open.

The long-term plan takes up a lot more of it... I’m sure I’ve read that the Welsh government are paying for the new stand. It's a disgrace everyone is so far up Reynolds ar.e it's embarrassing,Wrexham council looking to cut local services as they are running a deficit but still able to support this financially,a club owned by a multi millionaire. Welsh government as well,Drakefords 5 year reign has seen a fall in Health, Education services ,increase in child poverty yet money can be found for this, appalling!!

Chester probably making a mint out of the Yankee tourists seeing the (mock) Tudor architecture .

So what are people's guesses on the stadium plans for step 2 & 3? Are we knocking the East down? Are we extending the East either side? What about Thatchers, are we building something on top (temporary) like the East stand? Or knocking it down and builing a stand? Reason for asking is a few know I'm a nerd with stadium designs, so i've started seeing whats possible. Starting with a copy of the South stand...

Two options imo, knock it down and start again (preferred, more expensive yet a design that will permit all of our requirements) or create a mirror image either side and replace the terracing with seating (can be done piecemeal so no or little capacity and hospitality reduction, maybe cheaper and quicker). Hoping for 6,000 seats or so on the East, the North being similar to the South.

A walkway below the current stand running along the length , then the bottom half could be pitched lower down to pitch Level. ps I’ve no idea if this is possible and I’m making it up on the spot !

You must be working on the assumption the East stand stays and two stands either side are bolted onto the main stand (otherwise the lot gets demolished). Then a lot of the terracing will go either side of the East stand just leaving the middle section of terracing . What can be done about the middle terracing is open to design . It could be left as terracing ? . What about raising it to be seated ?. As Topper said; covering it could be difficult . It could be uncovered terracing / seating ?.

I think the new owner said the east would be extended towards the north and south. In the absence of a billionaire knocking the whole lot down I think this will just be like for like additions meaning a seamless looking larger east stand. Will probably mean the terracing to the front, which will hopefully have seats placed over the top, will remain uncovered. The real opportunity will be on the north end which has much more room for a big Kop type stand with plenty of entertaining space underneath. The South could have a SW style mini wrap around over the current away terrace to add a bit of symmetry at that end. A new North stand could also wrap around a bit to cover the family terrace and that part of the east terrace opposite.

Reason for asking is a few know I'm a nerd with stadium designs, so i've started seeing whats possible. Starting with a copy of the South stand... From the owner's comments, it's assumed that we're going to leave the East Stand and install more seats either side, probably similar temporary/modular design to the South Stand. Can't remember if he said that was phase 2 or 3, with the other phase obviously being seating at the Thatchers end. For the new stands either side of the East Stand, I can only imagine they would have to be identical in height, size, angle etc. as to what's already there as to avoid any sight line issues. Seats could be installed on the terracing below too, though guess these would need to be uncovered as the roof of the stand above wouldn't cover. Really trying to get my head how this would look and whether this could be joined up with the South Stand. If you're able to model this would love to see it! Pretty clear though it would be much better to knock down the East Stand to avoid all this lol

Not sure it would have many seats though. How many seats does the East stand have now? If you treble that and put seats in the East terrace, it might actually reduce the capacity?

East terrace. Lift it up so it links better with east stand and make it seated. Front seats put on current terracing would have limited - if any - view. We could end up with a mini St James Park. East and North being built up & back.
