Then we'd have to charge Burton & Derby fans the same? Assuming Derby sell 1,000 stand seats then that's £15,000 we're simply throwing away, if we give them 2,000 seats it's £30,000. I assume there's even a good chance we'll sell out the entire stand so that's £100,000!! We really going to give Derby the entire stand and make them feel comfortable. I hope not. You could tell that Oxford were a bit rattled from the noise coming from our fans in South stand. Would be massive own goal to make Derby feel like they are playing at home. If we give them around 2,000 seats that still leaves around 1,000 for Rovers fans, I guess a lot might depend on whether we've still got an outside chance of the play offs, or the season is effectively over.

Think you’ll be surprised if there’s entertainment on the pitch and seats with a roof off it😜 I'd obviously love to be proved wrong on this one but they get 3 times our average attendance now when it was always double going back 15 years. The majority of young children walking around this city dress with that horrible robin motif bobbing around. We have a long way to go if we are going to need 18k space to fill up at home !! Don’t forget, they practically give away ST’s to the schoolies. Something like 50 quid and you get a free, scarf , shirt , hat, flag & stone island jacket. Thats why there’s so many empty seats , the little scrotes are all down Broad Mead ……On Nause patrol.

We might all be surprised to hear that last season was Rovers best season since 1975 crowd wise. Averages can be tilted by a few big crowd games to make things seem better. As can gauging the seasons highest attendance. For me its the lowest league crowd of the season thats the measure of how well the club is supported. Last seasons lowest gate of 8078 was the highest since 1975 then back to 1962 for the next better season. Our greatest season was 1954 with 19,638 as the lowest gate. Last season was our 15th best season ever. That for me is something we should be very positive about considering we finished 17th in league one in a very limited stadium. Really Interesting post. Quite amazing really and very surprising! As you say really positive about the depth of support. At the time lots of noise about supporters not coming to game's because of Barton. My big take out is there are lot of people in Bristol that don't go and watch professional sport but are interested in doing so. The same people would like to do so sat down in a decent stadium. However, they absolutely do not want to follow a plastic generic sports team with a stolen identity! Build it and they will come they say! Really hope Rover's new owner's spend big and do a proper job with a new stand on the East side. Massive stand with loads of seats and decent corporate boxes. What they do with the East stand will tell us how ambitious they are. At this fans meeting coming up, could someone ask how plans are developing and when they might become public.

It is really interesting, and I don't disagree with what you're saying, but for a bit of balance I would say that attendances immediately after a promotion season are bound to be elevated. Give it a couple of seasons of midtable mediocrity and I would expect attendances to fall without something else to attract the fans.

If we have a good season with genuine play off credentials, winning games, then attendances will increase. Are we likely to get higher attendances being top of L1 or lower-mid Championship? Hopefully we'll find out soon enough. 👍

Anybody know why despite announcing South Stand ticket prices for the next few home games, you can't actually buy any? Would buy some tickets for the Carlisle game if I could. I can't go to the club shop, I'm three hours away.

As promised here is the response to my phone call today regarding changing my ST from the West terrace to the new South stand. Basically for us fans living a great distance away from the Mem it can only be done by visiting the club shop on any day bar a matchday. This is because it’s a manual process and there is no other way around it. So this in my case entails a 200 mile round trip to do this on any day bar a matchday. So the club are basically saying bugger you long distance ST holders for not wanting to drive to the Mem outwith a matchday to changeover your ST. What customer service is that!

If you can’t do it on a matchday then I’m not going to bother will just stay where we are, would’ve changed for Saturdays game before tomorrow nights game but doesn’t look like this is possible, so I won’t be making an extra trip there on top of tomorrow nights game .

I went in person last week to change our tickets for tomorrow. I took our season tickets in with me and the girl took the numbers from them to do the transaction, but I can't see why that can't be done over the phone. As dudelebowski says, get in touch with Tom Gorringe. I've always found him extremely helpful. tomgorringe@bristolrovers.co.uk

Thanks to all for your responses to my comments. While you were making them I fired off an email to TG suggesting surely an exception can be made on match days to allow long distance ST holders to do this. I have previously had correspondence with him on various issues in the past, will post any reply I get later..

Could have just stuck with £10/15 per game. £25 for a Derby in league 1???, not playing Utd or Liverpool. Totally agree Topper. We average 8000 and even if we sold 9500 home tickets it still makes 3000 tickets avaliable. Derby sold over 3000 for Charlton. Let Bolton peterboro ( last away game ) and Reading ( fighting relegation) have the same. www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2024/01/charlton-athletic-away-tickets-sold-out

Stick with the required number (10% of capacity ?) 1200. If we dont sell out the south stand then perhaps offer other clubs a few hundred more.

Pricing structure is odd but I can see why it's been done to maximise revenue.
The EFL should introduce 20 is plenty campaign pyramid wide, completely unfair in today's economy to pay more than £20 for League 1 football.

The EFL should introduce 20 is plenty campaign pyramid wide, completely unfair in today's economy to pay more than £20 for League 1 football. Problem is that today's economy means that the costs for clubs has undoubtedly increased massively over the last couple of year, since 20 is plenty was launched. I know it's League 1 football so should be a lot cheaper as a lesser product, but I can't imagine that the matchday cost per supporter attending is much different between League 1 and the Premier League - similar number of stewards/ticket checkers per attendee, electricity, water, VAT etc. The Premier League clubs will enjoy greater economies of scale than Rovers. £25 to stay alive?
