Then we'd have to charge Burton & Derby fans the same? Assuming Derby sell 1,000 stand seats then that's £15,000 we're simply throwing away, if we give them 2,000 seats it's £30,000. I assume there's even a good chance we'll sell out the entire stand so that's £100,000!! Totally agree Topper. We average 8000 and even if we sold 9500 home tickets it still makes 3000 tickets avaliable. Derby sold over 3000 for Charlton. Let Bolton peterboro ( last away game ) and Reading ( fighting relegation) have the same. www.dcfc.co.uk/news/2024/01/charlton-athletic-away-tickets-sold-outSorry for bringing this down to earth with a bump. If you sold 3000 tickets to Derby fans, Just out of interest how would you segregate the West stand from the away fans?

A cattle grid should work for Rams. Good answer. Where in the ground shall we put that cattle grid? Probably between the South Stand and the West Stand as that's where segregation is being requested. Would be a bit daft to put it in the six yard box.

I don't see why Derby or any other away following should be given most of the South stand. We have had to put up with poor facilities at the Mem for years, so when we finally get a decent new stand , why do some on here want to hand it over to the away support. Derby supporters get to sit in a decent surroundings every week , they only have to visit the Mem once a year , so they can stand out in the open or miss the game because they can't get a ticket , just like home supporters . Two blocks of seating (1,100 seats) plus the away end is fine for them. I suggested to TG once that when away clubs bring a small following we could put them in part of the old South tent and close the awfull away end down , his reply was that all fans have to be treated the same and offered stand and seating. But there has been a few occasions since when away supporters were just housed in part of the old tent. But my point is home supporters should be given a fair chance of being able to buy a seat in the new stand and not give 3,000 seats to away fans as suggested on here.

Away fans are likely to get 500-580 East Terrace Standing Tickets.
The South Stand configuration is pretty inflexible for the moment.
Away fans will be allocated 266 - c. 700 South Stand Seats until necessary modifications are in place.

Until the rest of the ground has been developed I guess the club will have to configure the use of the South Stand on a match by match basis. If we don’t have enough home fans to fill the ground and the opposition have a large away following just pure economics mean the club would be mad not to get the maximum revenue, especially given our annual losses. Longer term if the East and North get extended/rebuilt then the South can be handed over to away fans every week.

We didn’t build the stand to have it empty. If we can fill it ourselves, fine, but if not, let the Derby fans fill it at £25 a pop. We need every penny we can get.

Would be a bit daft to put it in the six yard box. I like your thinking, however there are a couple of issues: 1) How to maintain that segregation - You could use the South West corner for the segregation between the two sets of fans in view of the pitch. 2) A barrier at the back of the west stand somewhere, that then removes the toilets and the food options from the West stand, so creates another issue for home fans.

Sections A and B (SW Stand), C (Corner section), D, E and F (South Stand) all have season tickets holders in. So the maximum number of seats for away fans is limited to Sections G, H and J. So that is about 1500 seats max plus 550 terrace means that certain away teams can have up to 2,050. That equates to 16% of ground capacity.

Thinking which block to buy season ticket for next season and want to make sure it’s in a block that won’t be given to away fans …..so guessing by this it’s blocks A-F

These are the seats we will keep for the rest of this season. If there is the demand from home fans for S/T’s then I cannot imagine away teams being given any more than I have indicated. The new South Stand has improved the atmosphere and will make it more intimidating (as it did against Oxford United).

I suppose it all depends on demand, but I can’t imagine the club selling season tickets for blocks G, H and J so they can be flexible with allocations to away fans. Well, that would seem sensible to me, anyway.
Btw, does anyone know why the block next to the away terrace only goes halfway up? Apologies if this has been asked before.

Completely agree with comments regarding non Bristol based fans. Spoke to shop today explaining that I would have to drive 60 mile round trip today and again to attend the game tomorrow. This apparently is because they cannot process the £3 admin fee by phone, reason being, the telephone line is not secure. I also emailed Tom Gorringe, who cc’d the Ticket office. This is not how you treat your loyal customers. Watch this space😡

I don't feel there's any need to give Derby the whole stand but we could give them 2,000 tickets, lose, say 300, to segregation and 1,000 to home fans. Plus they get another 800 in the away end. Although if we win the next 3 games the share of tickets may have to change in our favour.

It is to allow for the new East Stand seats to link in with the South Stand, when the East Stand is constructed.

Thanks 👍 Does make sense in a way, but officially the South is a temporary stand, and who knows when the East Stand will be built. I’d have built it all the way to the top and crossed that bridge later on. Could have got a couple of hundred more fans in there for bigger games. That section would come down very quickly. And it looks a bit odd. Hey ho. What do I know?

Planning documents state: “ The proposals involve the removal of previous modular stands to the South end and South-West corner of the Memorial Stadium and the construction of a permanent roof structure for the new South Stand with the installation of a new modular seating system, with a capacity of 3,414 seats within the footprint of the steel roof structure.”
