I want to believe the East Stand will be amazing. Decent capacity, running the whole length of the ground. Microbrewery like the Left Handed Giant on the ground floor. Pirates rum bar, restaurants etc etc. You glance over to that thing in the south west corner and you already know the reality.😂 This is the Rovers after all.😂

Update from TG. He told me today that there will be several more additional food/ drink outlets and toilet blocks added to the south west and south east corners over the next few weeks. There will also be several bars in the concourse area screened by partitions/ cladding to allow separation with the walkways under the stand and allow the fans to eat and drink separately from the foot traffic to the seating areas. All this work is scheduled over the next few weeks.

Was speaking to a ground staff member today who has seen the drawings/ artists impressions of the new east side stand/s and he said he was very impressed. In addition he was talking to the owners son at the quarters recently who openly talked with him about their plans for the training ground which were very comprehensive.

South stand looked almost full today It certainly felt like that sat in it and it was absolutely rammed in the south west corner at halftime with the two bars and food outlets doing a great trade.

My idea for the rest if the ground would be knock down the west stand continue the west and North stand in the same way as the south stand have a bigger east stand incorporated all the hosputality boxes and dressing rooms in the new east stand and club shop underneath

South stand looked almost full today I thought there was a good take up of the South Stand today also. Even the Brunel Ultras were quiet the first half though.

Can we please have one big proper one rather than more than one on the East Side?

I was up at the quarters yesterday , the pitches are on the right as you look at it and barren land on the left down to the motorway. Is there further land behind the clubhouse that the club own ? just trying to work out in my head where they’ll be putting these new pitches etc if they’re selling the existing current pitches for housing redevelopment.

The own all the land from Hortham Lane to the M4/M5 interchange? This seems a good question for the Q&A as if the land is identified in S Glos Development Plan then what will that mean for the training pitches/club house

The new pitches will be on the barren land on the left looking from the gates. Any housing will be on the right hand side of the existing pitches.

Please say it involves knocking the lot down, including the terrace. I pray.

Go onto Google Maps and put in Hortham Lane Almondsbury and you’ll get a good idea of the layout - it includes a large (irrigation) lake behind the club house and all the rough looking land south of the training pitches & gym - I believe the site in total is around 23 acres.

Looking at that they could just about fit in a pitch on the barren land next to the motorway, presuming they can’t go too close as flying balls onto the motorway itself isn’t a good idea! Lots of land behind the club house but guessing that’s not too flat ?
