*Sit* in the seat you bought . This is going to be very difficult for the ‘we sit where we like mob’. Well done the club and I hope it’s enforced. I see that Dan Hargreaves on his Twitter has posted a link to a 92 year old ST holder who has recently moved to the south stand. The gentleman puts across his point very well regarding people standing and blocking others views of the action. This is why a steep gradient with rail seating is the best type of seating. If you sit you can still see over someone standing in the seat in front of you. Too late for the north and east plan I imagine but I hope if they ever rethink the west stand they can do this

A strange announcement when looking at the seat map there are only 79 seats left on the home side and they are still selling them. Presumably the ‘space’ between the home & away supporters will represent the ‘missing’ 25%.

A stadium full of terraces and people buy tickets in a seated stand and end up standing 🤦♂️ leaving those who are sat unable to see.

Presumably the ‘space’ between the home & away supporters will represent the ‘missing’ 25%. That would have to be steep! If someone in front of me stands in the East stand. I cannot see. And I am tall, so worse for smaller peps. The east stand is steep enough. Why move to a stand to stand?

Don't understand the obsession with safe Standing...its a nice to have and I would like to see it, but does seem to be something people are overly passionate about and if the ground was to be just seated it would be sh**e.
Can't wait for the Mem to take a big leap into the 21st Century, just to have it seated would be amazing.

I was in the South Stand for the Carlisle match. Missed our first goal because the bloke in front of me stood up as Brown hit the cross. By the time I'd stood up the ball was in the net. This thing of standing up every time the ball goes near the goal is ridiculous. STAY SAT DOWN UNTIL THE BALL IS IN THE GOAL! East Stand spectators follow this rule and it works perfectly.

Stand up if you love the Gas, will not be on the playlist then?

I sense the club are going to have problems enforcing that rule, when they've deliberately targeting the fans who've always previously stood by selling the seats at a big discount. If I had a 92 year old relative I'd tell him to stay well away from the South Stand.

We have done our time on the East Terrace, the Family Terrace and the Thatchers (until my Dad was 90!). We moved to the tented SW stand at first but have now moved to the side of the South Stand. This standing up affects old and really young fans alike. People are just being totally selfish. We still have 3 sides of the ground with terracing so go there if you want to stand. Don’t spoil it for others who now wish to sit. Unfortunately we would not be able to get 6 seats together in either the West or East stands. The East stand is also quite challenging with a lot of steps. You try going up there when you are in your 90’s and still supporting Rovers!

Some decent stewards in that stand would help , people with a bit of experience.

Plenty of us oldies now reside there and the club have acknowledged the fact that’s it’s a seating area. Nothing wrong standing up cheering etc if a goals gone in, but standing up anytime the ball gets in the penalty area is the problem.

For those supporters who are interested in how AWAY fans will be located long term at the Home of Bristol Football. This article from the Stoke City website is illuminating. They are keen to have HOME supporters behind both goals to improve the atmosphere for their team. AWAY fans are to be moved to a corner section. Our East Terrace area and the nearby seating in the South Stand is our best short run solution. www.stokecityfc.com/news/2024/march/05/potters-announce-atmosphere-enhancing-plans/

Already the atmosphere at The Mem have improved with our own fans at each end behind the goal.

Why should I change my opinion when this has been hopelessly mishandled by the club, they clearly targetted the yoof from the north terrace rather than make it a family stand or at least make it clear from day 1 enforce a no standing rule. It's a bit late to now try and enforce it when they've most likely sold season tickets to a number of ex north terrace fans. I've been to plenty of away games when Rovers fans have stood for most of the game in seated areas behind the goal.

Should be alright next season when it’ll be mass blocks of STH, people ‘hopefully’ will become familiar with each other and a mutual respect of those within close proximity. Had to tap a dude on the shoulder 2/3 times against Oxford when he was getting to his feet during random moments of play, thankfully he didn’t mind and wasn’t the kick off type 😄

I can assure you the new south stand is not full of yoofs your words not mine, from the north terrace. In fact they are in the minority I would suggest and have every confidence the club and us oldies will sort out the problems in the near future. Of course it’s not to late to enforce it, and no doubt todays opening salvo from the club will no doubt be followed up if complaints continue to be made.

I don't think it's a coincidence we've often been crap in the first half and a totally different squad second half. I think it'll make a massive difference to our performance.
