One of the floodlights was there for a while then health and safety had it removed š¤šutg There is also one road sign, by the roundabout, next to Jewsons that says āBristol Stadiumā. I have often thought about pulling up in an unmarked van, donned in high viz and hard hat to remove it. I mean what would the sentence/fine be for nicking a road sign? First offence and all that, well maybe second, or third š. Maybe we should lobby the council to give it to the club. Take a look on street view. Nice bit of nostalgia. Move it to Lawrence Hill in a few years time. š Who knows, maybe when we are really famous instead of a stadium tour we could run a stadia tour. š

Absolutely disgusting pricing! A shirt and shorts (no socks) for a 5 year old is Ā£60! The complete England kit with socks is Ā£28. The club should be ashamed of themselves.

Thatās not strictly true... The latest offering England kit is Ā£50 for baby & toddlers and Ā£55 for kids: www.nike.com/gb/t/england-2023-home-dri-fit-3-piece-kit-lDSgl8/DR5776-121www.nike.com/gb/t/england-2023-home-younger-dri-fit-3-piece-kit-nMV9mt/DR5773-121Iām pretty sure youāre referring to Sports Direct having a sale on the Mini Kits at Ā£28 at the moment, which is a great deal and one Iāve used to get mine the home and red kits over the last year, but thatās not the normal price, and those kits are now not brand new, hence the reductions and deals to keep the sales going for Sports Direct.

The area is marked, New Stadium Road, Gas Alley and the social club is still in the car park.
I see it like this.
Eastville Stadium was my upbringing, I lived near Royate Hill. But while Eastville has many memories, 1974 promotion, Smash and Grab, Watney etc, we have now been at the Mem longer in my life than Eastville. The Mem also now has many happy memories and in true Rovers fashion many disappointing ones too! It has become home.
A Stadium will never be put on the Eastville site again, which is a shame, but retail has taken over there.
I would still rather we redeveloped the Mem...but I know financially that can't work. I still say it's a better location that the fruit market and I have serious misgivings about going there. It's just not our stomping ground.

Even if they are on sale they wonāt be losing money which still means the profit the club are making is obscene! Even with your own example the Rovers kit is more expensive than buying from Nike. I think itās a total rip off and they are profiteering rather than trying to create value.

I think we can all agree that replica kits of all sports and teams are expensive and that has been the case for many years.
Luckily i am of an age where i tend not to buy the kits as i personally feel a bit of a berk wearing a football shirt in my mid 40s (although it does not always stop me).
While Ā£50 (or whatever it is) to get your kid decked out in the blue and white does seem steep it may help to break it down to cost per wear. The likelihood is they will wear at least the top to most home games as well as other day to day use. Probably works out at less than 50p per wear by the time they have outgrown it. On the other hand the money spent on treats, such as take aways, sweets and a pasty at the game is gone and forgotten in minutes. At least with the kit you get value for money in the long run even though it probably only cost a fee quid to design, produce and ship. Plus if they made them cheap it would just result in prices elsewhere, like tickets, going up.

I think itās a total rip off and they are profiteering rather than trying to create value. I think youāre underestimating the chunk kit suppliers take from sales, dealing with having to buy in huge stock that may be unsold etc. Itās a high price, but tbh it seems aligned with how other clubs have gone to me. That isnāt me saying modern football isnāt an utter disgrace to the fans - it is. But these kind of things are problems with the industry imo not the club.

Man U and England probably forecast to sell many thousands of kids kits both in the UK and globally, whereas we might sell a much smaller quantity making the production costs more expensive. But letās not let something like that get in the way of a bit of club bashing

A few points from me that has no real bearing on anything:
1. Looks better in Peteās photo (above) than on the promotional videos - sometimes lighting etc. can distort the blue; 2. I get that the player issue shirts might need block colour on the back but weāre Gas and our shirts should be quarteredā¦ itās half a job; 3. The gasworks pattern in the kit is a nice touch and the launch video enjoyable but the two arenāt really linked except by locationā¦ worth the build up? 4. Iāll have to say it again as Iāve said for the past 3 yearsā¦ still not toddler kits on launch. How hard is it? Suspect Iāll ask and be told itās āa few weeksā and end up getting my nephews birthday present as a Christmas present again like the last two years! This is my biggest bugbear and lessons are still not learnt.

The away kit from last year is being sold at Ā£20 down from Ā£29. They arenāt losing money on that which again leads to to believe that in this instance they are profiteering! Itās commercially short sighted too as if you get kids in the kit every year from a young age they are far less likely to be swayed to the dark side in later years by mates at school etc. Yes Iām club bashing but in this instance, in my opinion, they deserve it!

I think the clue in the title it is a "little" bit different.
I was expecting something a bit more different - maybe next season will be radical and the season after will be another retro style, who knows.
As for costs, if we tried to break even the cost of a season ticket on the centenary terrace would probably be just less than a grand.
The club is losing around Ā£2.5 million a season, so I think of buying the shirt as a Ā£25-30 donation on top of the cost the shirt should be, including mark up to pay for staff costs, cost of producing the ad, etc etc.
Hopefully the away shirt will be available soon.
And I agree with others, we should be quarters front and back, home and away, just my personal choice.

Arenāt arsenal adult kits going for Ā£90 for a version which doesnāt match with the actual kit worn by the players? And something like Ā£130 for a gold plated premium replica which is very close to what the players wear.
Canāt comment on kids kits cause Iāve only ever bought them on clearance for my nephews for next to nothing. But I have been astounded when seeing prices for adult kits for prem clubs and England which seem to be double what they used to be when I was a kid 25 years ago, whereas Rovers kits only seem to be a fraction more.

Also England kit is often competitively fought over as a loss leader between many many retailers to get people through doors to try and sell other products. Whereas our kit is only sold by the club and possibly one or two retailers (do Doug Hillard still sell them?) I wouldnāt use that for a base marker of what a reasonable price is.

This is for up to 6 years old only arsenaldirect.arsenal.com/Kids/Kit/Arsenal-23-24-Home-Mini-Kit/p/THZ2129Their junior kit starts at Ā£55. At a glance Man Utd is the same with the up to 6 kit and junior kits. Our junior kit starts at 5-6 years and is priced at Ā£38. brfcdirect.co.uk/collections/matchday-kit/products/junior-home-shirt-2023-24Iām 34 now and when I was 9 I reckon they used to cost about Ā£30 so not bad accounting for inflation since then - particularly over the last 18 months.

Iāve only looked at a kit for a 5 year old as thatās how old my son is! For clarity you donāt get a kit for Ā£38, just the shirt. You have to buy the shorts separately for an extra Ā£22. So we are more expensive than Arsenal and Man United and Arsenal even chuck in a pair of socks too!
