Shame Barton didn't sign Luca Connell last summer as we seem to have ever other Liverpudlian on our radar. Ive seen him play 5 times this season and has always looked one of the best players on the pitch

As i wrote, earlier, getting there and staying there are two different things. You only have to look at transfer fees paid to back that up. The difference between what used to be 2nd and 3rd division is really on a different level. I had to check out the figures when i read what the 82 were losing, each week and they have one play off final to show for that. In Luton and Coventry, you have two clubs who used to be long time members of the now prem, i imagine they will have a good idea of what is needed but you never know. It really has changed and is so much more expensive Luton have only spent about £3M in total on transfers in the 3 seasons they've been in The Championship. Their squad is full of free transfers, players signed from the lower leagues and they've still got players that they signed when they were still in The National League like Pelly Mpanzu who is still one of their star players. They've proved you don't have to spend fortunes to be one of the best teams in The Championship, let alone to just get there and stay there. In a ground and attendances pretty much the same size as ours. Millwall have only spent on average about £1M per season on transfers since they've been in The Championship too, again mostly signing free transfers,they've finished in the top 10 of The Championship 4 out of the last 6 seasons and missed out on the Play Offs on the Final Day this season. Their crowds when they were last in League 1 were pretty much the same as ours are now too. You really don't have to spend fortunes to get, stay or even be a good Championship team. I hear you but they are, very much, the exception don’t you think ? Fair play to them in doing what they have done and in doing it within the constraints of the amounts spent |

Great to see Stockport doing well after the dismal decade they've had. A proper club with a good fanbase and decent stadium. No matter how bad it gets, there's always hope.
