Anti lockdown loons. So that suggests you are pro lockdown assuming you don't consider yourself to be a loon? Lockdowns have been extremely damaging to lots of people so there should be consideration for people with different requirements imo. Anti vaccines. Please remember that I am not Anti vaccine, just extremely uncertain about the covid vax campaign. Your other points are unrelated and I don't think it's wise to put those things together as there'll be plenty of variety. Either way, why try to pigeon hole people anyway? Why alienate yourself from others? Obvs I was talking about the covid vaccine and you were / are definitely anti it . Youβve often pigeon holed posters on this part of the forum π Hoping for a good FA cup draw today 79β¦β¦ who do you hope we get ?Β Good, I'm ok with being called anti covid vax although don't really care what others decide to choose. FA cup...Tottenham away or the Sh1t at home.

Wonderful conflation, albeit without a coherent, linking sentence to join them. π hit you with every point so you resort to a grammar attack. So predictable but it's fine by meππΌ Glad it makes you happy, but not understanding "conflation" is a bit disturbing

You've missed a full stop. I had an idea what it means but had to ask my mother for confirmation. She mentioned something about deflection when I explained the context. Not sure where she was going with that of course, I'm so dumbπ₯

You forgot 15 minute cities, those who 'do not comply' are frothing about those too. I do blame COVID for this, and quite possibly the erosion of faith in organised religion that's been replaced by those looking for some meaning. Unfortunately our very own Rickie Lambert has fallen into this type of 'movement' and can be found on YouTube talking to glasses of water. Never meet your heroes eh ? Aside from lambert-hadnt seen this! What's your point on 15 minute city's? Rickie is protesting strongly against them, the conspiracy theory is that they're a means to control our movement, keep us in our homes, and restrict how far we drive and where to. Not that I want to encourage this train of thought for you π

How is it a conspiracy theory if the objective of keeping everyone within 15 minutes of their home is the aim? That's an observation, not speculation surely? Fwiw, I won't be complying with any of that BS either. If it's to do with the global warming stuff, that can also get in the bin. Anyway, covid jabs...you know you have to be assessed as 60% 'disabled' by a jab to submit a claim for the government damages scheme? Preposterous! Unlucky if they asses you as 59% or less and your world has turned upside down at a young age.

From what I understand it was intended originally as the other way around, in that amenities would be built locally to prevent the need for most people to have to travel further. You know, what sounds like a reasonable idea in principle. Unfortunately it appears to have been perverted, or the intention of it has, by people who can't seem to be happy unless they find reason to feel oppressed or controlled. People like Rickie Lambert who has disappeared down a rabbit hole having been influenced by another loon, Matt Le Tissier. I'm also sceptical by nature, but hopefully not past the point of reason and know several friends who've joined similar 'movements' and are unfortunately beyond help. I used to challenge them regularly, but the only response I'd tend to get would be 'do your own research' and they were unable to provide anything other than links to weird YouTube channels. COVID was hard for us all to accept, and I genuinely believe that the fear it created produced a level of paranoia past the point of logic or reason for some. It just simply couldn't be happening. Cue wild and dangerous theories on pretty much everything. One of the friends I referred to, an otherwise rational and functioning member of society (other than being a Ted π) is convinced the earth is flat. There is genuinely no way of convincing him otherwise and he seeks evidence of this (there's plenty of wild evidence out there) to reinforce his beliefs. Pre COVID his interests were football, rugby and motor sport. And no, he hasn't had the jab before you ask π

This bit though.. **Unfortunately it appears to have been perverted, or the intention of it has, by people who can't seem to be happy unless they find reason to feel oppressed or controlled** If your freedom is altered by the government for reasons that you disagree with, why tarnish those people? Aren't they allowed to express their feelings? I can see how they are labelled. The same way kids with modern diagnosed illnesses were just 'naughty' pre 90s. The gaschat term is 'loon' or oldie suggesting people(me)are thick, just for deviating from the official narrative. I dont really trust the politicians and some of their good ideas. I find myself doing the opposite quite often and it works pretty well. Covid jabs being an example.

I find myself doing the opposite quite often and it works pretty well. Covid jabs being an example. But that's the thing, exactly it, no one is altering anyone's freedom. That was not the intention or has it ever been proposed. All that it requires is someone with a platform to raise the question with suspicion, what is their intention. If the audience are of a particular paranoid persuasion they will leap to all kinds of theories which very quicky become concrete. Throw in a few 'loons' (yes, that word again) whose delusional belief system of a New World Order or something even more sinister, and it quickly escalates to becoming fact. A fact that the Illuminati want to keep us in our homes and watch everything that we do so they can jab us with chips and have us believing that the earth is getting warmer. Or simply decide that it might be nice to not have to drive to the shops or sports centre as there's one just around the corner. Like I said, I'm sceptical, particularly of governments and authorities, but sometimes you just have to conclude that the most likely answer is straightforward and actually beneficial to us, and the planet

It's like some of you have never read 1984..... We did it at school. I was just thinking about what the concerns were when I was a kid, and the big paranoid concern was the bomb and Russia. It used to worry the hell out of me. I think I then began to get an interest in the CND, and politics, by way of protest I suppose. I presume I felt that at least I was doing something to address my worries about the world. It seems anti-establishment these days is quite often conspiracy fueled. With the idea that EVERYTHING we're told is untrue, to an almost ridiculous extent. Politicians seem to have lost touch with much of the country which doesn't help with that, so many seek answers to the source of their anxiety down YouTube rabbit holes
