Haven't those people been discredited ? Yeadon didn't work with vaccines and hasn't worked since 2011 I think. Still, I do realise it won't make any difference to your views in the slightest but they do interest me. I agree that it's healthy to be sceptical, and to make your own mind up about important issues. We're far more likely to adhere to advice and guidance if we have a full understanding of the rationale behind them. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but you do give the impression of someone who will automatically oppose anything you believe you are being told to do that is different to how you would normally behave. Nothing wrong with that at all. However, you also do not seem to fully research the issues themselves and are happier to debunk them as it would require a change in your behaviour. To reinforce this (again, forgive me if I'm incorrect), you seek evidence which suits your views to justify your unwillingness to change. I won't pretend I know anything much at all about climate change, it's a bit late for me in terms of my education. However, I'm prepared to accept that our civilisation's behaviour has very likely damaged the planet and the pollution and emissions need to be reduced. If statistical analysis is informing us that the earth is getting warmer then I would also agree there will be huge consequences. Recycling is also, surely, just good common sense. As for COVID, well, again, some common sense and rational thought might lead to the conclusion that it wasn't in fact a hoax, or indeed an over reaction to lockdown and restrict. I could bang on about the number of deaths and of my personal experience of friends who contracted it, but that's not really my point and I'm not sure it would make any difference to your views in the slightest. The point again is about individuals being asked to change their behaviour, for the greater good. Most people I knew weighed this up, based on their research and personal experience, and agreed it was the correct response. Whether that be wearing a mask or staying at home. The 2 or 3 people I know who didn't agree (not surprising they refuse to recycle and deny climate change) did so mainly on the basis that they didn't want to, and therefore they didn't. They were not prepared to change their behaviour and have since sought justification for this by spamming me with random YouTube videos. The point here is that they had already decided that they wouldn't comply and have since found 'evidence' which backs this up. When challenged about this, I'm told it is because I'm 'woke'. Woke appears to be the phrase used by many who simply are unable or unwilling to change their behaviour whether it is necessary or not. So my point a few days ago, about paranoia and conspiracy, seems that it may stem from a fear of accepting a need to change, and the seeking of justification for not. Interesting you say that about refusal to accept any change. Like you, I know two COVID deniers very well indeed and both also refuse to recycle as much as possible, and also deny climate change. Probably completely unrelated but they both voted for Brexit, which oddly was one change they couldn't wait to happen.π€ Yeah, it does seem to go hand in hand with right wing ideologies, or at least that's how it looks to me. There's something about the idea that doing something different, for the benefit of others, is to be viewed with suspicion. Some people will look for any reason as to why they shouldn't so they don't have to.

...my highest science qualification is an A-level, but surely *if* there is a factor causing higher rates of heart failure in this tiny subset of people, it's far more likely to be specifically related in some way to their job/environment/lifestyle rather than a vaccination that billions of people have now received... ...makes you wonder why a politician (and her military husband) have jumped to the 'covid conclusion'...

Dr Adrian Boyle explains that, in the very article you attached in an attempt to suggest NHS staff know something sinister that we don't. The next commentator suggests it might be to do with being busy and lack of availability. The NHS spokesperson then says there's more availability than before. So ABs attempt to suggest might have merit? This refers to flu vaccines which I'm not surprised at. The way the covid 'vaccines' were literally forced onto people has no doubt made some sceptical of other routine meds. We have declined the schools offer of annual flu and inoculation shots for our kids the last 2 years aswell. Lost trust in it. Perhaps like the NHS workers.

There's a lot of polarised opinion on this thread, which is to be expected I suppose.
A personal example of why there is a grey area (to me anyway):
I took all the jabs offered and had 2 bouts (one nasty) of the blessed virus. 8 months after the second, I was diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and other heart issues. These had never previously been detected, nor had I shown any symptoms.
While waiting for the Cardiologist to decide next steps, I had another Covid jab in September. The symptoms of my heart issues increased exponentially and 2 weeks ago, the surgery was done. When they offer me a jab next year (as on the vulnerable list), it will take some soul searching as to whether to accept.
Too many instances on this thread of people being dismissed because their views vary from the "accepted". That's not cool.

DrF "Too many instances on this thread of people being dismissed because their views vary from the "accepted". That's not cool." Correct, if it was true. It's not. What has been true has been outlandish claims backed up with posted links to highly dubious websites and or published opinion of people with an agenda. Sorry to hear about your heart condition. Was your procedure ablation? I ask because I also have atrial fibrillation and been living with it for a number of years now. Mine is treated with Beta Blockers and a modern anti coagulant, the latter to prevent blood clotting which AF can cause. At the same time as AF was diagnosed I discovered I had slipped into Type 2 Diabetes which also thickens the blood. So not a great scenario. I was advised to cut out alcohol which was clearly ridiculousπ€ So when COVID vaccines came around and reports of links to heart issues (however small the number) I hesitated, for a minute. I have of course accepted all the vaccines offered, now annually, also I have also accepted the flu vaccine, annually, since I reached the age where it is recommended. To date I have not noticed any deterioration in my AF nor blood sugars since having vaccines. Do I think they (vaccines) are 100% risk free? No of course not. Do I believe they are 100% effective, no of course not. Do I believe they offer a degree of protection from severe illness or indeed absolute prevention? Yes I do. I am vulnerable to COVID outcomes because of my chronic conditions I have stated so it was an informed decision on my part. Plus I work with 40 people in my age group with various health issues and if the medics are correct then by having the vaccines I was to a degree preventing my body becoming a vehicle for incubation and subsequent transmission. To not do this would have been an act of grotesque selfishness and a degree of cowardice in thinking of self rather than those around me. But that is my decision and I respect the decisions of others. What I absolutely do not respect are those that go on to social media suggesting that I have been misled, that people like me are in fact puppets of some conspiracy, that COVID is in fact a hoax. Particularly when you know of people who suffered for weeks and then died alone in an hospital ICU. Good luck Grant with managing your AF, I wish you all the very best.

Thank you Les and good luck too!Afib is crap.
Yes, ablation. Hurt a lot until they gave me additional pain relief and sedation and I was away π€‘. Also have Bradycardia and Mitral Regurgitation, so was put on a priority list. Bit of a bugger because my diet is good, do loads of exercise and am slim etc. Consultant told me to expect the procedure to fail first time, so may need another and likely a pacemaker later. Hey ho, enough self pity nonsense, sorry.
As for the various news sites, agreed some may seen left field, but calling people crackers or similar, isn't necessary.
Merry Christmas and a peaceful and healthy Christmas to you and yours and anyone else reading. π₯π

Sorry to hear this, I'm sure it presents a dilemma as to your decision on future jabs. It's bound to. Similarly, I spoke to a mate from Blackpool yesterday(trying to sort out some activties for my brother who is heading up today) who had suffered a stroke last year. He was on the priority list for jabs at 40ish and took the first 2. He says that he hasn't been the same since, suffering with severe tiredness and various other random issues that weren't present before. He has removed himself from the mailing list and had an argument with his GP! There are all sorts of stories emerging from nations around the world but of course, much of it doesn't reach mainstream. Texas and Florida with recent lawsuits for example. Data continues to be collected so let's see how it all continues. Good luck DrF ππΌ

Perhaps? I guess there's a chance that this tiny subset are seeing these results because of the occupation. That would have been the case prior to the jab rollout though surely? Not sure why your science qualification bears any importance whilst reading a news article either tbh? The other way to look at this, is that *if* this subset of (fit, healthy) people are suffering from a side effect of the meds, its a real worry for Joe public and in fact ties in with some of the data now pulling through on excess deaths. But yeah, sure fob it off by all means π.

Well first of all I wanted to clarify I'm not an expert....and of course despite these claims being debunked already, there is a huge covid but non-vaccine related issue that affected pilots - the stress of no one flying anywhere for months/years - and at the start the threat of their job (in fact their whole career) not only being lost but potentially not existing any more... ...stress can manifest itself in a lot of heart-related issues...
