Jamie Pilley, who has taken over, is also subject to a 3 month suspended sentence by the FA for ‘circumstances surrounding the takeover’!! Yet he is still able to pass the EFL criteria. Madness.
No real insight into it all but I suspect the EFL were faced with either accepting that the Pilleys remain in charge or Fleetwood go bust, a cobbled together deal. And giving him a suspended sentence gets them out of trouble.
Either way the EFL Fit and Proper Owner regulations are about as effective as a chocolate teapot and not worth the paper it’s written on.
