He played 33 games for them across the season. Ok it's not exactly ever present but he played in nearly 80% of them. Any idea of how many of those 33 games he played the full 90 minutes in? I dont know exactly? Judging by Transfermarkt he played the full 90 minutes 12 times. He played 80+ minutes 5 times. He played 70+ minutes 4 times. He played 60+ minutes 7 times. So he wasn't exactly ever present but its safe to say he was definitely a 1st team regualar and started the majority of Coventry's games across the season when they won the league. Midfielders generally get replaced within games a lot more than Central Defenders. My initial comment was tongue in cheek and made in jest anyway, and I stated I think James Wilson would be a good signing and is just what we need.

Only played in 25 league games (54% of 46) that season and played 90 minutes in 9 of those games. Average minutes played per league match 68 minutes. Wasn't singling you out but many people were excited when we signed him, but they never fully looked at his track record...even though all the signs were there of him being (at best) bang average. Agree on James Wilson - a proper career and track record.

Whatever Westbrook's stats were most of us thought he was a very good signing at the time. That should teach us!! I guess we need to judge them all when they start playing for us and not how they’ve done elsewhere.
UTG!

They must be judged after one game, that is the benchmark and only indicator.

Damn Rodrigues went to Oxford. That’s exactly the sort of player I’d hoped we be in for.

Noticed at our level and the one above quite a few 3 and over 3 year contracts being given out.

Some good signings already being made at our level sure we would have been in for at least a couple and missed out which is disappointing.

Given we know we spent more than budgeted for, to gain promotion, I’d guess we would be redressing that but then, the Plymouth full back is rumoured to have been offered a better deal by us and longer contract. Let’s see

With Rodrigues, this should be a good signing for a ball playing Liam Manning side

Oxfords recruitment team showing what can be achieved with early precision and proper contacts.
That would be two very good signings completed ...
After their woeful last season it feels like they are gearing up again for a far better season.
Lincoln seem to be quietly getting on with things as well ....

Quiet on the Luke Thomas front since Barnsley offered him a new deal....

Quiet on the Luke Thomas front since Barnsley offered him a new deal.... Think there's a good chance he ends up here. No source, just a hunch based on strong interest last summer, his interest in a return, and the fact he clearly did not accept their new deal quickly! We'll almost certainly go after him.

I wasnt that impressed with him when he was here but if he can replicate the form he had for Coventry, and Barnsley early last season, he would be a decent addition.

People say the same every season about clubs that end up struggling🤣. It's good to get business done early if you can, but you end up paying more that way. A lot of clubs that were linked to Rodriguez, have said that didn't table a bid in the end. I would guess it's because he wanted too much, for a player that will be 27 by the start of the season and has never played a football League game. Have they used up too much of their budget on an unproven player, or got a bargain. We won't know until next season. Think I can remember people saying the same about their manager last season. I had a debate with an MK fan, who said they were better off without Twine. As they had got a lot of players in and had a much better squad.
