Mason Greenwood has been released by Manchester United. Reckon Joey will make an approach? Why not? What's he actually done wrong? Clearly something to warrant Man U letting him leave on a free transfer?

Mason Greenwood statement 🔴⤵️
I want to start by saying I understand that people will judge me because of what they have seen and heard on social media, and I know people will think the worst.
I was brought up to know that violence or abuse in any relationship is wrong, I did not do the things I was accused of, and in February I was cleared of all charges.
However, I fully accept I made mistakes in my relationship, and I take my share of responsibility for the situations which led to the social media post.
I am learning to understand my responsibilities to set a good example as a professional footballer, and I’m focused on the big responsibility of being a father, as well as a good partner.
Today’s decision has been part of a collaborative process between Manchester United, my family and me. The best decision for us all, is for me to continue my football career away from Old Trafford, where my presence will not be a distraction for the club. I thank the club for their support since I joined aged seven. There will always be a part of me which is United.
I am enormously grateful to my family and all my loved ones for their support, and it is now for me to repay the trust those around me have shown. I intend to be a better footballer, but most importantly a good father, a better person, and to use my talents in a positive way on and off the pitch.

He’s not been released, he’s been made available to leave the club and won’t play there again. It’ll be a sale or loan as he is still getting paid by United until the end of his contract…

Sounds like he will be forced out of the UK. I wonder if this will end up being as much a punishment to his partner (I believe they’ve stayed together and started a family) as Greenwood - she could end up leaving her friends and family in Manchester to live a lonely life in a country she doesn’t want to live in?

Would you guys like Josh Coburn back as replacement for loft?
I think he could do bits with the chances supply we could provide him with

Would you guys like Josh Coburn back as replacement for loft? I think he could do bits with the chances supply we could provide him with I would, as I think he has massive potential and we now have better options offensively to give him the right service, as opposed to hitting a high ball for him to have a wrestle with the opposition CB

There's massive potential for us to develop him and sell him for a tidy fee.
I'm not fussed about developing him for Middlesbrough though, there's younger, more exciting prem talents if we're going to go down that route.

No chance. He just signed a new four year deal at Boro. They’d value him at multiple millions.

Mason Greenwood has been released by Manchester United. Reckon Joey will make an approach? Why not? What's he actually done wrong? Imagine the uproar if Joey signed him, the forum nearly went into meltdown when Joey signed Jevani Brown and that was only a minor offence compared to what Greenwood was accused of. They only way Mason Greenwood is resurrecting his career is by playing abroad Italy/Spain or even one of Saudi Clubs, he will be good signing for someone and there's no doubt kid certainly has talent but what he was accused of will not be accepted by fans in the UK.

If we are still in the market for a left-back (I don't think we need one) to replace or provide competition for Flash / Grant, here's a couple free options:
Danny Rose George Cox

If we are still in the market for a left-back (I don't think we need one) to replace or provide competition for Flash / Grant, here's a couple free options: Danny Rose George Cox Joe Bennett and Matt Penney are free agents too. Personally I really like what I have seen from a lad called Amilcar Silva a 24-year-old LB/LWB playing for CS Sedan (average attendance 2,383) in the French 3rd tier Championnat National. A French-born former Portugal youth international who represented them at U19 and U20 level having come through the youth system at Monaco. Sketchy reports earlier in the summer he could've been available for about £170,000. Out-of-contract next summer. Now the market has opened up for clubs like us with the recent transfer rule changes players abroad should now be considered IMHO. Give ourselves more options instead of fishing in the same limited pond. Next summer probably more realistic, but you never know. Also 21-year-old Federico Bonini playing for Virtus Entella (average attendance 1,227) in Italian Serie C would be one to consider for the left footed centre back role that Joey was looking for and an added bonus is Bonini can also play as a left back. Judging by some of the fees received at that level a reasonable deal could probably be done with the club. Other LB/LWB's abroad to catch the eye are Christian Dimarco (AS Gubbio/Feralpisalò), Alessandro Tripaldelli (SPAL), Matteo Anzolin (Triestina), Abdoul Guiebre (Modena), Francesco Semeraro (AS Gubbio), Gwilhem Tayot-Savina (AS Nancy), Salva Ruiz (Castellón), Goyo Medina (Atlético Saguntino), Anders Hiim (Sandnes Ulf) and Vaclav Dudl (Pribram).
