What game are you watching. Thomas plays on the right , Gordon on the left. Not sure I understand your point. Jesus, calm down. Apologies, got my sides confused there. Feel free to ignore my 2nd line, but my 1st line stands. Next time you see some scintillating defending, passing, ball control or crossing from Gordon, let me know. Unfortunately I think we'll wait a while. If we're serious about play offs, Gordon isn't the LB to push us on IMO. You are never going to see any great defending from Gordon as he doesnt tackle he just backs off until the guy either goes past him or gets a cross in, and he will always get bullied off the ball as he is very lightweight. Going forwards he threatens to, but rarely goes further than level with the penalty area, and wont take anyone on let alone beat them. He is quick, neat and tidy on the ball which maybe gives the impression he is better than he is to some

I thought Gordon did OK at Charlton, we seemed worse defensively when he went off, and again he Saturday, Hoole seems the weaker of the two at present. Regardless Grant and Friend are also left sided players so I can't see JB bringing in another one.
As far as Humpries we were rumoured to be interested in signing him when he left Southend but he wanted to move back to the north west so unless circumstances have changed its unlikely he'd considered moving to the south west.

Like you mention, he’s got the the speed and is relatively skilful. He’s a weak spot in defence due to his size and he’s often targeted by cross balls into space behind him. So….. he needs to add more and that means adding a genuine attacking threat . Otherwise , what’s the point of him ?

I think he offers something we haven't currently got, a striker who is good in the air for one. One I wouldn't mind here is Stephen Humphrys. Even in his youth days I rated him highly and thought he had big potential with his pace, power and ball striking ability. Good age at 25, can play all across the forward line and still more to come as not yet fulfilled potential IMHO. Would be my first choice of a forward from League One too. Top player.

I don't Collins provides quite the cover that Thomas does. Collins is playing wide left asked to get to Marquis as quick as possible. Away from home this will restrict Gordon's ability to get forward and leave him a little exposed. At home, with defence "sat in" he should have some space to take up. An aside: nothing was "on him" this Saturday. I get vibes wise- if people don't trust him. I think he can be busier but he did his job better than most of 11 did there's on this occasion.

yet we want the forward for the team that's created most chances yet scored only one goal? One goal more than Marquis or Collins so far.

yet we want the forward for the team that's created most chances yet scored only one goal? Or another way of looking at it, we want the forward who scored 26 goals in 36 League 1 games last season, 31 in 45 the other year, and 24 in 42 last time he was here.

I said before the season kicked off that wing backs were my worry and they hasn't changed after watching 4 games, albeit I look forward to starting Hunt against Wycombe. I guess it all depends on what we're going for this season. If we're going midtable then I'm happy to develop our wingbacks further, they're both young and will no doubt be good enough in a year or 2. However, I get the feeling we're in a bigger rush than that?

Here's a few more realistic / affordable striking options:
Josh Coburn (loan) Jordan Rhodes Chris Martin Daniel Udoh Josh Magennis James Collins Mo Eisa Jay Stansfield (loan)

How realistic though, given that Jay Stanfield is rumoured to be on Sundaland's radar?
I wouldn't be surprised if Coburn doesn't return. Although the fact he's making 'boro's bench might be an issue.

Blackpool are set to complete the signing of attacker Kylian Kouassi from Sutton United, sources have exclusively revealed to Football League World.
Rules them out of signing JCH, then.
