I think it's better to have a tough start and if you don't win its not the end of the season.
If you have easier games and let them get away from you, you put yourself in a far worse situation.

Thinking about driving to Charlton away but parking somewhere in the outskirts and getting the tube in and out. Anyone suggestions as best tube station to park at without going into inner London? Parking around Ealing Common and getting the overground from Ealing Broadway to Bond St then jump on the tube from Bond St to North Greenwich is pretty quick and straightforward. About a 30 minute journey. Yes, Charlton away one of those I still do. Mainline to Waterloo, cross to Waterloo East and straight out to Charlton. Fairly easy.👍 UTG!

Would you like a bet on that? £50 to the chosen charity of the winner. If so, I bet you we get more than 2 points in August 2023.

You can travel near on 20 miles from pretty much as far west to South East London in 30 mins while changing trains. Yet just to get from Bedminster Down to Horfield on a Saturday afternoon takes about 2 hours Puts things into perspective🙂

Every season seems to be tough starts for us regardless of the opposition. Had what turned out to be the easiest opening day fixture last season against FGR....

Pompey will have a team full of new recruits - crowd will be over excited as usual ... Fancy we will get something.
Barnsley - New manager potentially - team changed from last season ... Fancy we will get something again.

If we’re gonna end a long winless opening day record, we might as well do it at a ground we haven’t won at for nearly 50 years as well!

Very tough start but not hopeful we'd get anything at anypoint in the season from Fratton Park. Given that we always start terribly get it out the way early. Rather lose to them than get done by someone like Fleetwood when I would think we really should have got something from that

Am I the only one thinking that the league in general looks much weaker than previous seasons? Nobody to fear really. Stupidly optimistic…roll on August so I can get a dose of reality!! 🤣 5-0

If Barton is banned from the touchline just imagine if he joins the fans in the away end at Pompey.
I reckon if he started a chant it might have something Todo with about sticking a bell somewhere.

It’s a stadium ban I believe… Does that mean he’s allowed to wait in the car park after to have a go at the ref?

Its about time the CEO told the EFL to do one, we predominantly get an away draw to start the season, because its a tad difficult for City to organise policing for the Balloon fiesta. Who gives a flying crap? Its not our problem. Being away most seasons means we statistically have less chance of a win, which in turn affects a number of following games if we lose. Then to cap it all off, we are also away on NYD and the last day of the season.
