This could go spectacularly wrong, they must be convinced they can ride out the next couple of weeks and then we have a player we would have no chance of getting otherwise. Huge risk. What is for sure is every football fan really will hate us now. The stick JB and JB will get a Pompey on opening day will be something. Hmmm.

Hopefully all goes really well in the court case and then we can concentrate on the football, 3 class signings so far, getting really excited about this season now

Don’t know about everyone else, but that’s 3 really good football signings. Regardless of the baggage, I think this shows some real intent in the first time in a long time….

Couldn’t care less , if he scores goals and plays well , happy days. It’s not like any of us supporters of the club are going to invite him around for dinner and be friends. Exactly ! 👍💙utg And what if the victim was your mother , wife or daughter , couldn’t you care less then either ? |

Absolutely disgusted. This isnt the Rovers I grew up watching. I didnt think we could sink any lower, We are now in with (and sinking below) Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle on morals. A sad day ...

I'm not going to talk about the court case, that's been discussed enough.
I can however talk a bit about Jevani having watched him quite a lot during his Cambridge United spell.
He got released by Peterborough not long after getting into the 1st team due to an "Off Field" incident.
I've no idea what for.
He then bumbled around a few low level teams over here in Cambridgeshire (I used to live in Cambridge)
Only when he scored 19 in 19 games for St. Neots Town, did Cambridge take a chance on him and signed him.
He was about 22-23 when he signed for Cambridge
He clearly had talent and pace, but very much lacked consistency in his game.
Some frustrating performances back then as you could see he was skillful but often got knocked off the ball quite easily.
He mainly ended up coming on off the bench towards the end of his spell there.
Then he was sold to Colchester and spent a couple of seasons there without setting the world on fire.
Then Matt Taylor (not that one!) picked him up for Exeter and he thrived as we know.
Looks like he's bulked up quite a bit from my days watching him at Cambridge United.
Fast, Skilful, has a good shot, can play in multiple posistions.
Based on last seasons start, not a bad signing on paper if he can continue that form.

Important to note Joey Barton was not found not-guilty, the trial was collapsed by the defence. No trial = no verdict. Absolutely disgusted. This isnt the Rovers I grew up watching. He has already pleaded guilty to one charge, so how are Exeter and Rotherham doing the "right thing". Are they saying, one assault is fine, but they won't be keen if he is found guilty of the second charge? Is that what you are applauding? How is that putting their club's reputation first? Caz hasn't deactivated her social media account, I see her work with Her Game Too as making football a comfortable, safe environment for females to be. Nothing to do with the private lives of players, she shoud be allowed to support her club without getting dragged into that side of things. To be pedantic, this bloke is not going to be danger to women attending games, wherever he plays, as he will be on the pitch! Exeter and Rotherham are doing the right thing hearing the facts or the case, did he send threatening text messages etc, the CPS will have their case. I suggest you message Charis, she is in quite a bad way re all this. You say Rotherham and Exeter are doing the right thing by waiting to hear the facts but seconds earlier referred to him as a man who hits women. Have you seen evidence that the rest of us haven’t showing that he has hit a woman? Or are you jumping to your own conclusions? As I’ve said before I’ll be reserving judgement until I hear/see what evidence comes out. |

As you say, I had a look at him at Colchester and was Haldane-esq in that he moved up the pitch quickly but with little in end product. When he went Exeter last year I did think that it was a bit of a duff signing for them, but he played very well against us and then started knocking them in all over the place. Sometimes, a bit like Aaron Collins and Matty Taylor, it just clicks. Still dont like the signing though. Left me with an empty feeling this one.  |

Have you chosen to forget them and their antics then ? |

I'm suprised we've offered him a two year deal, a one year deal with possibility for another year extension would have been a lot safer.
As already mentioned he's only had one season of note and with his off the field problems, feels like too much of a gamble to be honest.
