Lots of newbie users joining to comment 🤔 I smell something. Does it matter? Plenty of long standing posters unhappy or uneasy with this signing. We are not allowed to say so though.

Absolutely disgusted. This isnt the Rovers I grew up watching. I didnt think we could sink any lower, We are now in with (and sinking below) Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle on morals. A sad day ...[/quo So what about players such as Esmond Million Keith Williams Alec Munro Andy Spring etc These were all players in the not too distant past. Have you chosen to forget them and their antics then ? not forgetting our family support and the so called club we no longer are who trashed weddings.punched horses fined for homophobic abuse list is endless yet life goes on.

Exeter and Rotherham are doing the right thing hearing the facts or the case, did he send threatening text messages etc, the CPS will have their case. I suggest you message Charis, she is in quite a bad way re all this. You say Rotherham and Exeter are doing the right thing by waiting to hear the facts but seconds earlier referred to him as a man who hits women. Have you seen evidence that the rest of us haven’t showing that he has hit a woman? Or are you jumping to your own conclusions? As I’ve said before I’ll be reserving judgement until I hear/see what evidence comes out. be interested to read his reply

A sad day ... go and support the 82ers or Plymouth then if thats how you feel, JB was found not guilty and Jevani will probably/hopefully also be found not guilty, Bath City will be getting my money again this season.

Absolute sh** show from top to bottom. They would have seen the backlash and still went ahead with it.
Not my football club.

HGT have made a statement. They'll be following the case and going from there regarding partnership with the club. Will not affect work with the community trust and the gas girls

You get shot down instantly and called over-sensitive for having an opinion that contradicts their own. I think most posters who have expressed their reservations have by and large been respected by those with a different opinion. Those who accuse fellow posters of being morally corrupt and the like or compare Brown’s signing with us giving a contract to a rapist are bound to get a more prickly response.

Calm down, no criticism of people's opinion, for or against but I don't think potentially City fans trying to stir up sh1t helps the situation.

Just trying to understand where or if some fans would draw the line.

The way to help the situation would be to have not signed this player?

Everything you wanted to know about
JEVANI JASON BROWN
b 16.10.1994 Letchworth, Hertfordshire
5’ 9”; 11 st 11 lbs F
Career: MK Dons; 2011 Stotfold; 2012 Letchworth Garden City Eagles; 2012 Peterborough United (professional, 1.7.13; released, 8.11.13); 2.1.14 Langford; 20.7.14 Barton Rovers; 1.9.14 Wingate and Finchley; 3.2.15 Arlesey Town; 8.7.15 Kettering Town; 6.2.16 St Albans City (trial); 1.7.16 Stamford; 30.12.16 St Neots Town; 7.3.17 Birmingham City (trial); 16.7.17 Cambridge United (trial); 2.8.17 Cambridge United (free) [75+9,13]; 4.7.19 Colchester United (ÂŁ350,000) [33+18,7]; 4.1.20 Forest Green Rovers (loan) [5,0]; 29.6.21 Exeter City (free) [66+4,19]; 26.6.23 Bristol Rovers (free).
It was not a straightforward signing when Jevani Brown joined Joey Barton’s Rovers side ahead of the 2023-24 campaign. Whilst supporters were well aware of the striker’s goalscoring prowess, there were moral concerns ahead of the young man’s ongoing court case for assault against a woman in Exeter city centre in February 2023. Brown had pleaded guilty to one charge and not guilty to a second, with Exeter City refusing to field him again and releasing him at the end of that season. He had also been released by Peterborough a decade earlier following an off-the-field incident. Nonetheless, he arrived with glowing praise for his performances on the pitch; “he’s got pace, power and wants to stretch defenders”, his former Grecians’ manager Matt Taylor had said. Jevani Taylor was well-known to Rovers’ supporters; “the archetypal mercurial talent”, as he was described in Cambridgeshire Live, he had made his Cambridge début in their League Cup defeat at The Mem in August 2017 and had played four times (including the August 2021 encounter when Rovers found themselves 4-0 down inside 24 minutes at St James’ Park) for Exeter against Rovers, scoring equalisers past James Belshaw in two of those games. Club form had earned a 2022 call-up to the full Jamaican squad, following on from five Under-17 caps in 2011, the first being in February 2011 when he played the first seventy-five minutes of a 1-0 victory over Guatemala. A regular at youth level at Peterborough, he had played Southern League football for several clubs (two goals in thirteen games at Barton Rovers, one in nine at Arlesey, an incredible nineteen in nineteen matches at St Neots and fifteen goalless games with Kettering, although he did score against Market Drayton Town in the FA Cup) and his three goals in fifteen Northern Premier League appearances with Stamford included a brace in a 2-1 victory at Rugby Town in August 2016; he also helped Stamford to a rare appearance in the FA Cup proper, where they lost 3-0 at Hartlepool United. A brief trial at St Albans City featured a Hertfordshire Senior Cup game against Hitchin Town. Brown scored his first Football League goal for Cambridge against Chesterfield in November 2017 and, joining Colchester on the same day as Paris Cowan-Hall, played alongside Harry Pell. Having not scored at all during 2020-21, he was named League Two Player of the Month for November 2020, the month in which he scored two Colchester hat-tricks, after eleven, 57 and 81 minutes of a 3-1 League victory over Stevenage and the following week in a 6-1 drubbing of Southend United in an Essex derby in the Football League Trophy. However, after eleven goals to this point, he was not to score again that campaign and moved to Exeter City. Brown was a player in demand at St James’ Park, helping his side to promotion, alongside Rovers, from League Two in 2021-22, when a final-day home defeat to Port Vale deprived the Grecians of the divisional title, and scoring a forty-minute hat-trick away to his former club, Forest Green Rovers, in September 2022. Thereafter, disciplinary issues stalled his career, prior to his arrival at The Mem. Profile compiled by Stephen Byrne Bristol Rovers History Group

Don’t know about everyone else, but that’s 3 really good football signings. Regardless of the baggage, I think this shows some real intent in the first time in a long time…. Personally i would say 4 adding Grant Ward

The announcement video is absolutely embarrassing.
"Durkio told me he been on some positive sh**, yeah, yeah
Lately, I just wanna show up and body some sh**, yeah, yeah
Always been a lil' mathematician, lately, it's cash I'm gettin'
Got me losin' count of these bags, I've been movin' too fast
Hard times don't last, 'member when cops harassed
Talkin' out my ass, boy, you ain't sh** but a bitch with a badge"
"All my life (All my life)
They been tryin' to keep me down (They been tryna keep me down)
All this time (All this time)
Never thought I would make it out (Never thought I'd make it out)"
if you assault a woman you are absolute scum that is that.

Sad reality is if you're a family looking to take your kid to the football for the first time and you look at City with their brilliant stadium and a Bristolian owner who employs hundreds locally, then compare that to us with our dump of a stadium, our incredibly questionable manager and now this new striker (footballs and women seem to be his forte) there is only one choice.
It's so short-sighted, but is it any wonder a banker from a Jordanian family who employs a management team from Liverpool and Brighton etc. just doesn't understand what it means to be a Bristol Rovers fan?
It's a terrible, terrible signing and one I can only hope hastens the sacking of our manager.
