Anyone heading to the game today? Be nice to hear any updates from people who do attend.
After our first game against Melksham finishing 9-0, be interesting to see how we do against a national league level team. Hopefully the whole squad is able to take part again at some level and we don't have too many more early injury issues to go with Lewis Gordon currently.
Wouldn't be surprised to see the trialist from the Melksham game play another part today having seemingly impressed. Wonder if we will see any other trialists appear?

We're heading down there. I'm assuming that we can pay on the day? I can't find any info on it.

Remember when we went down Eastleigh were viewed as a big up and coming club that had eyes on promotion to L2. Funny how things work out Going for. 5-1 win

Not sure what happened but they seemed to be soon overtaken by what we would call the real bigger clubs

Apparently back now as owner of Eastleigh.

Our pre-season friendly with Eastleigh is the first of their HOME 23/24 season friendlies with league clubs.
They also play:
Tuesday 18th July v. Oxford United.
Saturday 22nd July v. Swindon Town.
Last season they played 4 league clubs in pre-season games.
The results were:
13/07/22. Eastleigh 1 v. 5 Oxford United.
16/07/22. Eastleigh 1 v. 0 Swindon Town.
23/07/22. Eastleigh 2 v. 1 Brighton & Hove Albion Under 23.
26/07/22. Eastleigh 2 v. 2 Southampton B.
In previous seasons they have played Brentford B, (lost 1-0), Northampton Town, (lost 1-0), Reading, (won 2-1), Oxford United, (won 3-0), and Reading, (won 2-1).
This fixture will be a big step up from the Melksham Town match.

Remember when we went down Eastleigh were viewed as a big up and coming club that had eyes on promotion to L2. Funny how things work out Going for. 5-1 win They were and still are. Considering they were playing in very minor leagues as Swaythling Athletic about 30/40 years ago on council owned pitches watched by 3 men and a few kids (I was one of those kids when staying with grandparents) they’ve grown a lot. The last 8/9 years they’ve stabilised in the NL so may appear to be not so good but never having their place threatened. In the last few years it’s been a huge league to get out of. Good little outfit and easy to get to. 👍 UTG!

Taking a point down there on that Tuesday night during our ropey start to Conference life, was a seasons highlight come the end.
Already down to 10 (finished the game with 9) and Ollie Clarke smashing in the equaliser top bins, the noise under that tin roof was deafening.
Some 9 years we’ve had since!

Walked out of there on the last day of September convinced we would go up. More or less start of a great run until March iirc. That view never changed. Losing Milds after a poor back pass by Tom Parkes should have done us but that screamer by Ollie C was great and we could have won it at the end. Apart from the obvious at Wembley that was my favourite moment of the season. 👍 UTG!
