In this particular context, I would say so. I mean, he’s not looking at the Mona Lisa and finding the paintstrokes of da Vinci interesting is he?! He finds the opinions of a fairly extreme individual both in opinion and behaviour so interesting that he has to retweet it, so there must be some agreement of the content that is contained. If he thought it was a load of rubbish, it wouldn’t be worth his thumb movement or it would along with a comment that stated it wasn’t worth his time. Sorry I don't agree. I have watched documentaries and read books on subjects/individuals such as Hitler, Harold Shipman, Raul Moat, the moors murderers etc all extreme individuals and found them interesting. Especially the psychology behind it all. It doesn't mean I agree with their heinous crimes. I am obviously missing something again. Not sure what a classical renaissance painter has to do with it either. As do I, but if I were talking about it to someone (let alone 2.8m followers) I would say I watched this interesting documentary last night, it talked about/mentioned x,y,z "Food for thought" leaves everything up to interpretation and there may be some people who watch that and think Tate's right you know, "The Matrix is holding me back. Women run the world" and all the other bollox. it's a tacit endorsement of the bloke as he offered no context Meanwhile Joseph has woken up this morning and gone trolling, because he clearly has nothing better to do aside from that he has just posted something with context. Compare that to the Carlson/Tate tweet

The problem is that when you shine a light on any character they are flawed. Those of us who are not in the public eye never get examined in the same way but you only have to look at a certain newsreader, tv daytime host or childrens entertainer . Football wise Mourinho was held responsible for the mob attacking a referee, Roy Keene ended a players career and Ferguson kicked a boot and cut Beckhams eye. Barton was found guilty of an offence in 2008 - 15 years ago - and nothing since - yet still he is a " wrong un" . It still becomes worthy of chat in public forums because he happens to say that a comment is worth thinking about. Many years ago Margaret Thatcher admitted that she read the Morning Star every day - yet no-one accused her of being a communist . She did so because she said how important it was to understand everyone's viewpoint . Missed this, but for the record, should any light be shone on me at any point I am confident that there are no incidents in my past where I have, oh I don't know, stubbed a cigar out in a fellow human beings eye. I have also never been caught on camera beating the living daylight out of a chap in a town centre of an evening and I have also never been accused of beating up my wife. The police have also never been called to my house and found my wife bloodied and bruised and me drunk. Finally, I have never had impartial eyewitnesses confirm that I shoved over a fellow manager after a game and left him in a bloodied mess also. Re the last two, I believe in the eyes of the law both Mrs Barton and Mr Stendel are very accident prone and both slipped over. But I did steal a pack of toffoos in 1997 and it has lived with me ever since, in the interest of full transparency.

Ha. Now he has a pay to listen channel. Imagine some opposition managers will be listening in to his tactical plans. Concentrate on your Job Joey. Tho I suppose you need something to do when banned from the ground. i think he is just trolling there to be honest as he clearly hasn't got anything better to do

I don’t think there is ever going to be a consensus on JB within online platforms such as this but in the ground on a matchday I don’t witness an angry and divided fanbase. A few hate JB with a passion and will try their best to find offence in anything he says or does in the hope the cumulative noise will end up seeing him forced out of “their club”. For me JB is clearly a flawed character from a very tough and dysfunctional upbringing, much like many footballers and boxers as opposed to cricketers and rugby players who tend to have better and more privileged upbringings. I think his worst offending is long behind him but he’s still flawed and going to be prone to the odd indiscretion. I’ve no real issues with him since he arrived here despite never liking him as a player or when he was at Fleetwood. Sometimes I think “why did you say that” etc but overall I prefer a manager having an opinion rather than a grey manager trotting out well worn football cliches - how many bemoaned DC constantly using the phrase “we’ll dust ourselves down…”. Overall I’m happy to have him as our manager at the moment and think he’ll lead us to a high finish this season.

JB turning into an embarrassing grifter. Courting controversy to stimulate interest/anger so he can profit from it (or get attention - if that is his motivating factor). Pure cringe.

Managers often state that the job is 24/7, how has our manager got so much time that he can have outside interests. Odd that his contract allows outside employment in the same industry.

I don't think anyone is hopeful that he'll be sacked or forced out because Wael doesn't care what anyone thinks. The people you refer to are just embarrassed to have the club represented by a thug and an attention seeking . And that's regardless of results. If you want to talk tough upbringings and give Mr Barton a hard luck story, read the interview with DC he did in the Guardian last year. Bloke didn't have a pot to water in growing up, parents not around, and is a decent bloke. I'm glad the division in the fanbase doesn't spill over to matchday, though.

If charity was your main aim with this, you’d have said it from the start. New Joey Barton energy drink soon.

92 managers in the football league, cost of living crisis, how many other managers act like this representing their clubs?
Old brown brogues 👞👞 Gorringe as CEO needs to stop this, if reading Tom, try some black shoes this season!

Tom, Tutton and quite a few others either on the payroll or enjoying the club's hospitality at things like awards do's know the rule - Barton does what he wants and Wael will let him. If Tom so much as asked Barton about his behaviour he'd be back in the Pasty Hut at Brighton flogging Piglets Pantry to away fans before he knew it.
