How do you know that? Do you monitor my watching habits? That's a bit creepy to be honest. Actually I have watched some of the highlights, as I believe that you should never comment on something you haven't at least attempted to watch, also it is supposedly improving so I generally take a look at the World cup and Euros to see if it is actually watchable yet. And I don't constantly comment, let's face it nobody does really do they, 11 pages for an entire tournament. I have been interested in the level of engagement in my experience (i.e. my neighbours/friends and around town generally) compared to how it's been reported in the media, obviously I can only speak to the area I live in and the town I work in, about 15 miles away. I live in Teesside, a pretty football mad area, on the edge of the North East, and to be honest you wouldn't know it's on (compared to wall to wall St George's crosses everywhere during the men's world cup/euros, not a pretty sight for a Welshie I can tell you) it struck me on the way home this evening, there was a car with a St George cross flying and I realised it was the first one I'd seen, and then I noticed as I was making my way through town, nothing, not even in the pubs. I don't mean people are anti it or anything, and most of my friends want England to win, in the same way that they wanted the netball team to win a couple of weeks ago (which I did watch), but with no real engagement, knew it was on, wanted their country to win but no desire to watch any of it. Please believe me when I say it's not the fact that it's on or that women play football or the people watch it, it's the way it is reported, and yes, shoved down our throats by media that have an agenda that p*sses people off. Obvs I don’t know if you watch it ! 🙄 Just I think it’s a bit weird you’re slagging off women’s football and the standard of it but you then watch it ? Or maybe you don’t … who knows ? England have just reached the World Cup final and you’re complaining that’s it’s being shoved down your throat . That comment is just ridiculous and hilarious. If the men had reached the final we would be getting probably 20 times the coverage ( at least!) Wall to wall tv , newspapers, radio etc discussing every minute detail. You say 'obvs' I don't know if you watch it but your original comment was 'who doesn't watch it' at least remember what you wrote. How can I make a judgement if I don't watch it? Your point makes no sense, you say it's weird that I slag it off but then I watch it, other way round, watch first, make judgement afterwards. And I was originally just reacting to a meme, commenting on the media and, in this case, betting companies pushing an agenda.

A few things I want to add: 1) The timings of the games - Its early morning, rather than prime time evening. I was in the Southern Hemisphere for the Japan/Korea world cup, so I don't know what it was like here at the time. It is certainly being discussed in our office when there are games. 2) The quality of the footballing has been really good. Sam Kerr leading the line yesterday was no different to a Premiership player leading the line. Fortunately/Unfortunately her finishing was more Marquis than Man City! 3) The skill levels I am seeing from the better teams are better quality of ball control than what we see week in and week out in the 3rd division. 4) The comment about womens Wimbledon is very pertinant. The quality of the serve and volley is just as good in the womens game as the mens, its just played at a different pace. Your point about pace is the pertinent one. Pace, and I don't mean just how fast they run, is the thing that affects things such as technique and touch most. A few people saying that their technique is better than some of the Rovers players, it's a false equivalence, if any of our players were playing in that context they would look like Messi, pace and time matter in all sport. If a ball comes to you at 15 miles an hour and 30 miles any hour which one are you going to be able to control easier? Same for the amount of time you have to do things. If you watched the ashes you'll have seen Usman Khawaja score and occupy with complete ease in the first two tests, his technique looked immaculate, as soon as Mark Wood came along in the third test, Khawaja's technique went out of the window because of the extra pace, in that case, barely 10% more, but it makes a difference. As for Newcastle being bedecked with support for England, possibly, although I doubt they are very different to down here. If you don't believe me I'll happily drive around the streets of Middlesbrough and Darlington and video the lack of any visible signs, but I doubt very much that that would persuade you, reality takes a back seat to ideology these days.

Watching the final ? 🤪 Nope, no interest, I've watched enough over the last few weeks to know I wouldn't enjoy it, plus as a Wales fan, I tend to avoid watching England as much as possible 🙈🙈

Took you a while to realise you didn’t like it 🙄 Like a rottweiler with a toddler aren't you, if you'd read my previous responses you'll see I usually watch a few highlights of each major tournament to judge whether it's improved or not, this time no exception, I've watched some highlights of the 'bigger' teams over the length of the tournament to get a decent idea, after watching a few highlights it looked to me as if it was no more entertaining than what I had seen before, unless you think it's a valid methodology to watch 5 minutes of one game and make a judgement on that alone?

Reading your previous responses just shows you commenting on a thread about something you don't like, just to continually tell us you don't like it. You could even say 'shoving it down our throats'... I'm all for opinions, but if you can't see any improvement in the quality of the women's game over recent years and tournaments, there really is no hope and probably best not to put yourself through the pain of even highlights. This tournament has been the most competitive I can remember and many countries are now quickly closing the gap to the big teams, as has been shown by close games and the early exits of some of the pre-tournament favourites. As for media coverage, it's nowhere near as bad as you make out and easy enough to avoid if you don't want to read about it or watch it.

To say standards haven’t improved (immeasurably) is absolute nonsense and goes to show our friend either never watched any women’s soccer previously or doesn’t watch any now. He’d rather just scornfully mock it , which says more about the poster and his opinion should be ignored.

Plenty of people comment on threads about things they don't like, in fact more often than not that even bleeds into other threads, witness comments about the manager, the owner etc etc, it's the nature of things, if people didn't comment on things they don't like them how are you going to get into a discourse about anything? People will just think everyone likes Joey Barton when they don't for example. I'm sorry if it upsets you that some people have a different opinion than you but that's life. Oh and as for the quality thing, first I said I didn't enjoy it and second, telephone and typewriter.

Think it's good management to leave Lauren James out. What she did could have cost us a plac ein the tournament and Ella Toone has come in and done well. I'm sure Lauren James will still play some part today.

Come on England, let's do this. I'm prepared to let Hemp and Earps off the hook today for their previous associations 😀 Hemp in particular looks a fantastic striker

Decent outfit the Spanish, will take some work to turn this one around. Time to introduce James immediately as Toone has been a passenger once again. Give Spain plenty to think about chucking her straight in from the off after HT

It probably was with the new laws. Harsh, but there was movement from her arm towards the ball

If that was against Rovers we’d be screaming for it, the hand is out.
Great save though.

All over then.
We didn’t really show up for the big one, zero quality in midfield. Walsh, Stanway & Toone all missing, don’t think James added anything when she came on.
Gutted it all decided on a rare error from Bronze.
We go again anyways, defend the Euro title next time out.
