Many years ago when I was Staffordshire Gas a young man who worked at the Bet 365 tipped me off re Matty Lund joining us.He returned to Stoke and my mate tipped me off again he was going out on loan again this time to Southend both of which came to pass. Asked him Tues was Connor Taylor leaving and he told me,'He might be',so can't help sadly but Connor and his family were comfortable with us. AC's goals dried up a bit at the end of the season so will be interesting to see what happens. We have had a few from Stoke over the years.Saw Carl Saunders score for us at Anfield in the FA cup.

Fair enough Colyton.
I can't see Stoke stumping up £3-5m for Collins, which is what it would take for us to be even interested. I think we are on for having a good go this year and Collins will be central in that.

Dropping that to say £2.5m plus add ons and connor maybe worth it in their eyes

On his day imo Aaron Collins is unplayable, but he does go to ground far too easily, and does have tendency to run the ball into trouble

If Coventry are prepared to pay 2 million for Bobby Thomas then collins has to be at least 5.

Rovers will probably end up selling Aaron Collins for the more realistic 2 million, whether that be Stoke City or Sheffield United. The club would grab 2 million, which would help sign two or three players. Cant always rely on loan signings. UTG.

Double that and you might be right. Just because we’ve been put over the garden barrell in the past doesn’t mean we will be now.

Can't see Sheffield United being interested in Collins, he's not Premier League standard. Not at the moment anyway!

Can't see Sheffield United being interested in Collins, he's not Premier League standard. Not at the moment anyway! more clubs interested (even if most is just rumours) the better! I resigned to us losing The League 1 POTY this summer, but important we receive a substantial fee for him. Considering he has 2 years left on his deal and he’s happy here we all hold all the cards.

Just because we’ve been put over the garden barrell in the past doesn’t mean we will be now. 2m + CT would tempt me I’d be tempted to do a deal including CT but that would put quite the price on CT. I feel CT would be up for coming here providing we show the ambition to get to the Championship this year or next at a push. But I doubt he’d be willing to sign the contract needed to warrant a high fee. He hasn’t played for us at L1 level. I don’t think he’d do a Beefy but the risk is there. Either way signing him would be an absolute coup. But we do seem to be a bit heavy on signings for CB right now with plenty of rumours of incomings and the triallist out in Portugal.

Keep him and take a big gamble . Currently I’d guess we’d get 2-2.5m . *If* we got promoted and he had another great season his value would go up to at least 5m as a championship player. If we don’t go up he’d still have a yr left on contract and we’d still get at least 1m …. Maybe a lot more if he does well again.

What I wouldn't want is to then be looking with fees suddenly increasing as a result of others now thinking we had money and were desperate.

Doesn't he have 2 years left on his contract.
Should be no desperation.

Someone will have much better knowledge than me of league one transfer fees so I'm hoping someone has the answer? What's the record fee for a league one player over 24 who had no experience higher than League One?

What's the record fee for a league one player over 24 who had no experience higher than League One? off the top of my head I would say Jack Marriott to Derby, reportedly 3 mill rising to 5 mill. He was 23 then though and Collins is 26
