£300k for Connor and Cov paid £2m for Bobby Thomas. Funny old game! It'll be interesting to see how this season pans out for those two, I didn't seen a lot in BT to think he was anything that special. |

In fact I though he was quite ordinary. No way is he worth his recent fee. |

Would take Connor over Bobby T every time. What an upgrade on last seasons defence.
BUT - do we now play a back 3 or if not, who can play LCB? Connolly did with Taylor before

Sign of intent. Maybe we would of made the signing without the investment? 'The transfer is thought to be independent of the additional investment expected into the club from Kuwaiti businessman Hussain Al Saeed' So we've spent £m's on a new stand, bid £250K for one L1's leading strikers last season, signed Brown, retained Collins and now spent £300K on Taylor, but none of this is down to the new owners? If that's really true I expect us to now enter the bidding for Kane and Mbappe when the deal is confirmed!! We were signing Tom Nichols, even Stefan Payne cost circa £200k, Macca from Wimbledon was in the realms of circa £300k I would hazard a guess at. It's not unusual for us to spend that. |

Great signing which shows some players are taking us seriously, as did Luke Thomas which I also think was a bit of a coup although some may disagree with that.
Love him or not, Barton is a biggish name in the game especially at this level, and if he is allowed to offer the wages, he can do the chat to get them on board.

Payne was signed with the money we received from Harrison? Nichols in the days when we thought Wael was going to bankroll us to the Championship. We've never previously spent money on the ground and players like we have so far this summer. |
